S P O T L I G H T O N . . .
U16sAs we near the end of
our league and finally get down to the business side
of the game, the excitement within our 2 squads is
increasing.
So if you see 3 bears and Goldilocks standing on the side line, that will be myself, Greg, Paul and Jo, our Manager. Don’t worry the
bears would have been fed……….
As in any sport you have your standouts, but with this team they all stand out. So with that, we would like to thank our
support crew, parents, friends, grandparents, photographers on the side line and a special thank you to Kim Primmer and
Mike Cowley for your support.
The B squad have won 1 game and drawn 1 (against our old foes Exiles, 22 apiece) in the
league and won 1 friendly. The A squad have won 3 out of 3.
The determination of both squads to stamp their mark has been shown by the large numbers at training. As coaches, we are proud of our boys: they have a
great attitude to learning and developing as they go up through the grades.
We were plagued with a string of serious injuries; the mere
mention of MRI scans sent shivers down the spines of the coaches.
... we know we’ve done something wrong when Ric gently barks at us, “Get running, fast, faster,or you’ll do another sprint!”
Injuries ranged from a
fractured femur, fractured pelvis,
torn ACL, torn back muscles,
the list goes on...
