Case study Rakuten | Press Office
Canela created, developed, implemented and
measured the first Rakuten.es communication
campaign aimed at the consumer. The comprehensive
press office program was aimed at journalists from
national, regional, lifestyle media, as well as those
specialist press that corresponded to key sales
categories for Rakuten.es, eg: Maternity, Pets,
Gastronomy and Decor issues. The team created a
wide variety of content such as products´ bazaars,
press releases and infographics, and managed several
competitions with radio and online media. In three
months 140 articles were published in media such as
La Vanguardia, S Moda, Sálvame, Hola, in addition to
features on radio and TV, such as Flaixbac Radio and
TV3. The total coverage reached an advertising value
of 172,000€ and 37 million impressions. This PR
campaign, combined with a complementary
advertising campaign over the same time frame
increased the visibility of Rakuten from 12.9% to
57.3%.

Case studies Serviapuestas| Press office
Immersed in an extremely competitive sector,
Serviapuestas, the company specialised in
online bets and lotteries, wanted to increase
its visibility in the run up to Christmas. Canela
undertook a short term communication
campaign for the Spanish company providing
the press with a range of interesting facts and
figures relating to Lottery purchasing
behaviour. The campaign resulted in 92
articles which were published during the 3
months of the project. Canela also helped to
position Serviapuestas as a leader in its sector
by building the profile of the company´s CEO,
Sascha Badelt, who was interviewed by
prominent media such as Cadena SER, Onda
Madrid, COPE and Gestiona Radio.

Case studies flightright | Press office
Canela manages the press office for flightright,
the portal specialised in managing claims for
delayed, cancelled or overbooked flights. To
position flightright ahead of the competition in
this sector, Canela is constantly searching for
original and creative story angles, publishing
press releases and infographics on facts and
figures related to everything that happens on
airplanes and at airports. In just six months,
we have achieved more than 120 pieces of
flightright branded coverage, most of them in
national media like ABC, La Vanguardia and El
Confidential. With our coverage, we reached
more than 1,6 billion of online unique users.

Canela managed the announcement of the
arrival of Ve Interactive in Spain, as well as the
opening of a technology development centre
in Bilbao. Taking advantage of this British
multinational interest for Spain the
expectations of the growth in the e-commerce
sector, Canela organized a press event in
Madrid and a pres event in Bilbao, which were
each attended by 20 journalists from
national/regional, marketing/ecommerce,
retail, financial and IT professional media.
These events resulted in more than 60 pieces
of ve Interactive branded coverage in key
publications for business sector, including 6
interviews with Ve Interactive’s founder in well-
known media as El Mundo, PR Noticias,
Interactiva Digital, ETB, and more.

Case studies Café Royal | Launch event
Café Royal chose Canela PR to launch, with
style, this premium Swiss coffee brand in
Spain. At an event featuring an exclusive
broadcast from Café Royal’s Special Agent in
the Service of Good Taste, Robbie Williams,
over 20 media had the privilege of being the
first to enjoy the full range of Café Royal coffee
in a variety of formats. Adrian Fernández,
Spain’s Best Barista 2014, delighted the
audience with some of his specialties made
exclusively for Café Royal, including Melon and
Coffee Freeze Pops, Citric sorbet with Café
Royal® Ethiopia and Gin&tonic with Cafe
