September 20, 2020 Twenty-fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
DIRECTIONIsaiah tells us something that we already know, and yet seem to forget every now and then. He tells us, essentially, that God is God and we are not. When we’re confused and troubled and can’t figure everything out, it might be wise to recall Isaiah speaking on the Lord’s behalf and explaining that God—who is on a much more, well, Godly wavelength than we are—moves in ways we can’t even imagine.Saint Paul, by comparison, has everything figured out. Kind of. At least he understands his calling in life—to magnify Christ in everything he does. That should give all of us the direction we need. Jesus gives us direction, too, explaining to us once again in the parable of the workers in the vineyard that the last will be first, and the first, last.
Turn to the LORD for mercy; to our God, who is generous in forgiving.
— Isaiah 55:7b

Prayer for Racial Harmony “God our Father, You call us to love one another as You have loved us. We pray for the conversion of hearts in our Diocese of Baton Rouge to bring about racial harmony rooted in Your Son, Jesus Christ. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, strip us of our pride, mistrust and prejudices, so that we may be able to dialogue with one another to build communities where justice, peace and love flourish. We ask these blessings trusting in the infinite mercy of Jesus and the intercession of Mary our Mother. Amen.”
Thank You! Thank you to everyone who donated to our supply drive and a special thank to our confirmation students and other volunteers for all your help!

COVID Pastoral Center Procedures The Pastoral Center remains closed for walk-ins at this time, however, the office staff does have the ability to answer phone calls and provide services. If you need to come to the office (ex. to purchase a mausoleum crypt), you can make an appointment and one of the staff will be able to help you. Please call the office for an appointment and please wear a mask when you come.
Funerals Inside the Church Attendance for funerals in the church will be limited to 25% capacity of the church.
