This pattern can easily be adapted further for hats or socks! Materials: ~150 yards Malabrigo Worsted or other soft merino worsted yarn US Size 7 (4.5mm) 16” Knitting Needles Stitch marker Gauge: 20 stitches and 30 rows over 4” (10 cm) in candle flame pattern. Exact gauge is not crucial, as the pattern is very stretchy, and can block to size. Definitions for double increases and decreases: • (K,YO,K) = double increase; K1, Yarn Over, K1 into the same stitch • (Sl 2-k1-p2sso) = vertical double decrease; insert needle into 2nd and 1st stitches at once as if to k 2 tog and slip both stitches from this position; knit next stitch, then pass the 2 slipped stitches together over the knit stitch.
