Resurrecting You Life

"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? " - (John 11: 25-26)

Grace and peace unto you!

In this season of commemorating and celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, as Christians, we must peer into the inner layers of our lives and resurrect those areas that have caused a spiritual death to dwell in our faith. These areas such as moral and family values, quality education, economic uplift, political engagement, and cultural pride and history, once motivated our lives with a sense of hope and joy. But as these areas continue to decline in the world, it makes the weight of the cross we carry unbearable, and threatens the abundant life God desires for us.

Saints, we must believe in life. Now is a good time to remember why God sent his only Son, Jesus, to die for us. It's important to know that Jesus' death on the cross was not in vain. He died for our sins. His burial and resurrection fulfilled the love and eternity promised to us by God. Thankfully, once we are in alignment with God's Word and live up to our responsibilities, there is the eternal reward of life awaiting us as recipients of God's love.

Accordingly, it is wise to live in the power of Resurrection and be aware of God in our life. As we pursue God passionately, we must allow the relationship with Him to grow. The engaging connection with God will create a change in our lives that showcase the power of God's strength in us. Our purpose in life will become clearer as we realize our potential in making the most of our time on earth. We are the fruit of the Resurrection!

Even though the tomb is empty, Jesus is alive. Are you alive? If so, resurrect your life and claim your divine inheritance by conquering and restoring God's power within you. Beloved, go within the depths of your soul and re-evaluate your goal of eternal life. Rely on God to transform your life and trust Him to lead you through all your trials and tribulations. Don't be shaken by changing circumstances in your spirit, instead commit your spirit. Let God resurrect you!

Despite Jesus' sacrificial death, He lives so we can face each new tomorrow. Jesus has won the victory and is willing to share with everyone that is willing to accept Him. Truly, it would be beneficial to reintroduce ourselves to God and allow the Holy Spirit to lead us into victory. Also, we should make it our priority to help others see God's power and love. Death can be overcome. Jesus did it and we can, too. Arise in Jesus Christ!

In closing, Jesus' resurrection gives each one of us an opportunity to receive a new life in heaven. His final sacrifice paid for all our sins and demonstrated the love He has for us. It is this lovely gift that gives us hope and eternal life in heaven. Just as the crosses in our lives dampers the divine purpose in life, we must focus on the power of resurrecting them. Let God breath new life into you!

Stay Strong!

  • Welcome and Greetings

Thank you for worshipping with us at Canaan Baptist Church. The corporate life of this congregation is the true witness of the vitality of our faith. While the high point of our Christian service is to be found in the experience of Sunday worship, what we do from Monday to Saturday, speaks volumes about Canaans commitment and dedication to Christ and our community.

Canaan is a family where all of us are saved sinners hammering out our salvation under the auspices of Gods amazing grace. We are structured, but not so structured as to prevent the powerful work of the Holy Spirit to impact the life of our in-reach and outreach ministries. We are organized, but not so organized to prevent the organism, which is the Church, from bearing full life.

  • Good News Of Canaan (GNOC): Tell us about your call to the ministry. ED: My call was and is still a process. My first encounter with God was about the age of

12, while reading a Sunday school book. Shortly after that I began teaching Sunday

school. I realized I was being called one night at work. I heard a voice in my spirit

saying Im calling you to call things which are not as if they were, Ill speak through

you. I spoke with my Pastor and he advised me to continue in the word, keep up with

my studies and ask God to sensitize me to the leading of the holy spirit to live an anointed prayer life

and pray wisely the word of God. Im still trying to live that advice.

GNOC: Whats your passion for ministry? ED: Im very passionate about my Prayer Life. There are times being in the presence of people I can

feel their pain, their hurts and confusion. Im compelled to intercede and pray on their behalf. Also,

always seeking wisdom for all things according to Proverbs 4:5. Im very passionate about the lost, the

unsaved, the sick and those with habits they cant seem to break. They need to know that Jesus is a

    habit breaker.

GNOC: How is it serving with Pastor Bullock to help him carry out Gods vision for Canaan? ED: Ive been with Pastor Bullock a short period of time. I feel as if his message is his life. He preaches

the voice of God which is the word of God. Pastor Bullock is a trailblazer and a visionary and as part of

the ministry at Canaan I am called to pray under the anointing of the holy spirit for my Pastor, his

family and my Canaan church family.

Good News Of Canaan (GNOC): Tell us about your call to the ministry. VG: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper, plans not to harm, plans for a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11) It wasnt until I

moved to Brooklyn New York to get help for my personal battle with addiction, that I realized God took me out of my Egypt, to do ministry for the Master. I was surrounded by women who were hurting, dealing with feelings of rejection, abandonment, unforgiveness, abuse of many kinds, those who carried emotional baggage and many who did not know there was a more excellent way to live life. The Holy Spirit spoke to me and I knew I had to do something to help others who suffer with those types of issues. Even though I work and counsel with women who have life-controlling issues, I am still amazed that God placed me as the leader of the Womens Ministry of Canaan Baptist Church. But God knew the plan

GNOC: Whats your passion for ministry? VG: My passion for ministry is to help God in His Work with a lost and sometimes hopeless world. My passion is to work with women who not only need help for substance abuse and mental health, but those who want to live life and get to know God in a better way. My mission is to fulfill the plans God has for me to minister to women who have been physically, mentally, spiritually, sexually abused. When I see a life changed, I am blessed and I know that even though God used me, it was He Who did it!

GNOC: How is it serving with Pastor Bullock to help him carry out Gods vision for Canaan? VG: When I came back to Delaware from NY and joined the ministerial staff at Canaan, one of my leaders/mentors told me get to know your Pastor, his likes, dislikes, his passion as well as his mission. I silently studied Pastor Bullock, from the pulpit, as he lead meetings, in his office, how he related to others and how he counseled his flock from the pulpit. I have grown to love my Pastor and the mission God has given him. The adage you cant lead if you cant follow is true. Pastor Bullock is a great leader as evidenced by his many followers. Hes a great follower as evidenced by those who are in authority in his life, who lead him. It is good to serve with Pastor and help him carry out Gods vision for Canaan, knowing he follows the leading of the Holy Spirit.
