Your guide to household recycling Items that CAN be recycled from your blue-lidded bin or black box (Please put items loose in the bin and not in carrier bags or black sacks): • Empty, clean plastic pots, tubs and trays of any colour • Empty, clean cartons and Tetra Paks • Empty, clean glass jars and bottles with or without lids • Paper and cardboard • Empty, clean tins and cans • Empty aerosols • Clean foil and foil trays • Empty plastic bottles Items that CANNOT be recycled from your blue-lidded bin or black box: • Nappies • Shredded paper • Metallic plastics used for crisp packets and pet food pouches • Any sort of food waste • Scrap metal, such as baking trays, pans and car parts • Plastic bags and film • Electronics • Expanded polystyrene • Textiles • Crockery, cutlery and drinks glasses Textiles, batteries and small electrical goods can be recycled by putting them in a tied, standard-sized carrier bag placed next to any wheeled bin on your normal collection day.
