Cameron Lee is fourth in the nation with a 52.2 percent three-point percentage; Seger Bonifant of West Liberty is the national leader with 54.8 percent. 3. With a 53.2 team field goal percentage, the Aggies are tied for second in the nation but second overall in the LSC with Angelo State leading the nation with a 55.6 percentage on the floor. 4. DJ Jackson is third nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio with a 4.50; on Saturday, Jan. 3 at home against Northwestern Oklahoma he had a career high 11 assists. 5. The Aggies are eighth in defensive rebounds with 29.1 a game, Texas A&M-Commerce leads the nation with 31.7 per contest. FIRST TIP: Last season, both teams split the home and home series with the Lions owning the overall series record 24-21 but Cameron has won five of their last eight against A&M-Commerce; while visiting the Lions home gym the Aggies are 9-13. On Saturday, Cameron rallied back from 12 points back midway through the second half and managed to pull ahead by one after Cameron Lee went 3-for-3 at the line with seven seconds left. Despite the Aggie comeback attempt, the Buffs in the following possession when coast-to-coast with a tying bucket with under two seconds, and sent to the line for a and-one which ended up being the go-ahead winning basket. Mat- thew Don had his first career double-double against the Buffs with 15 points and a career high 10 rebounds. ABOUT TEXAS A&M-COMMERCE: The Lions have won nine out of their last ten games with their only loss coming at Midwestern State on Jan. 3, and they have the sixth best field goal defense in the nation by holding teams to 38.3 percent shooting. Texas A&M-Commerce averages just under 83 points a game with Darrell Williams averaging a double-double this season with 17.9 points and 12.4 boards, and LaDon Carnegie is leading the LSC in points per game with 18.5; Williams is also the fourth best nationally in rebounding this season. Despite the firepower headlining the Lion offense, they are seventh in the LSC in shooting (43.9 percent) and have the third most turnovers per game (13.8) Long range shooting is something the Lions don’t do much of with them ranked last in the LSC in attempted three-pointers (240). AGGIE EFFICIENCY: Cameron is tied for second in the nation with a 53.2 team field goal percentage in 14 contests this season and only once the Aggies have shot lower than their opposition. The Aggies are 7-2 when shooting between 50-69 shots per game and they have been on the losing end of the turnover battle 11 games out of the 14 this season. When holding a team to under 44 percent on the floor and when they have more rebounds, CU is 8-2; only once this season the Aggies have had fewer rebounds. SHARING THE BALL: Against Dallas Christian on Dec. 20 and Northwestern Oklahoma on Jan. 3 the Aggies had back-to-back game with a player having 10 more assists. Both Bruce Barron and DJ Jackson dished out 11 assists and it was the first time in at least the last decade a CU player has had 10 more for assists in consecutive games. COMING UP: Cameron will return home on Saturday to face Tarleton State at 4 p.m. in the Aggie Gym.
