Prof. Dr. Anas Sarwar Qureshi is a pioneer camel researcher in Pakistan. He completed first ever master’s thesis on camel blood in 1989 and presented his work in the First International Camel Symposium held in 1992 in Dubai. From the time he is continuously engaged in researches focusing on genetic differentiation of Pakistani camel breeds and testicular morphology on camel. Prof Qureshi is a prolific writer and has published more than 40 research/review papers on camel in national and foreign journals. Hitherto he has supervised two PhD and several MPhil theses on camel. In addition, he has to his credit two books on camel published in Germany and contributed two chapters in the international books on camel. Recently, Dr. Qureshi has completed a PARC-ALP research Project on the reproductive physiology of camel. Dr. Qureshi is frequently invited as a speaker and has represented Pakistan in more than 20 countries around the globe. Currently, he is Chairman of the Department of Anatomy at Faisalabad Agricultural University. In forthcoming numbers,Dr. Qureshi will write a column titled Camel Corner for the readers of The Veterinary News and Views.
