Task 2 – Identifying key termsWhen you’re reviewing websites it is important that you look at several key areas and that you understand what these are. On your own, read the definitions of the key terms provided. Match up the key terms with the definitions.
Task 3 – Reviewing an existing websiteWebsites exist for different purposes and for different target audiences. All have different features and content. Before planning your own website it is important to look at what already exists.
In groups or on your own, research a range of different websites for different purposes. You should consider:
Target audience – who will be the main users of this website? Remember, there could be several different types of users.
Accessibility – what features have been included which could help someone who has a disability such as hearing impediment or poorer eyesight? Is there a mobile version for use on different devices? Are there any features which are designed to make it easier to use?
Content – what kind of information is included? Are there any multimedia features designed to enhance the website? Can you link to other websites?
Personal opinion – what do you think about this website and how could it be improved?
