ThankYouAs Helena's parents, Rick & I would like to thank
our Church for providing a scholarship to cover half of Helena's
camp fees. She thoroughly enjoyed Mini-Camp last month, and though
she had to come home a day early with a high fever/UTI, she asked
the very next day, 'Can I still go to camp next year?'We're
grateful for the encouragement of so many of you to give her that
experience.A big hi-five, also, to Randy Langston for giving us a
tour of the camp before we checked Helena in.With much
gratitude,Randy Baxter.
AndanotherThankYou I thank my church family. I am blessed to
join First Christian Church.I feel very blessed for having all my
families. Thanks to all that took the time to send cards, call, and
pray for me when I had a recent procedure.Alice Maraj

Girl With a Pearl Earring which is a 1999 historical novel written
by Tracy Chevalier.Set in 17th Century Delft, Holland, the novel

AnOfferFromBreadForTheWorldOn most occasions when we talk or
write about Bread for the World, the Christian Citizens Lobby
focused on hunger issues in the U.S. and around the world, we are
asking you to do something. In May and June we promoted Bread for
the Worlds Offering of Letters. Sometimes we tell you about a
current hunger-related issue before Congress and encourage you to
write or phone your representatives in the House and Senate
concerning that issue. From time to time, we encourage you to become
a member of Bread for the World. And, of course, every year during
the Alternative Gift Faire held on the first Sunday of November, we
give you the opportunity to make a gift to support their work. In
anticipation of the 2016 election, and, in particular, the first
debate among the crowded field of Republicans seeking the
nomination for President, which occurred on August 6, they sent a
request to every announced candidate, Republicans and Democrats, to
provide them with an answer to a hunger-related question. This was
the question: What would you do as President to offer help and
opportunity to hungry and poor people in the United States and
around the world? This question is likely not going to be asked in
the various debates that will be televised between now and the
election, but it is a question that is worth posing to the various
candidates. To date, seven candidates, five Republicans and two
Democrats, have responded to this question by sending videos to
Bread for the World. Those who have responded are Jeb Bush, Ben
Carson, Ted Cruz, Carly Fiorina and Mike Huckabee, Republicans, and
Martin OMally and Bernie Sanders, Democrats. Each video runs between
90 seconds and 3 minutes and is found on Bread for the Worlds
website: wwwbreadfortheworld.org.Its our understanding that as
other candidates respond to Bread for the Worlds question they will
be posted on their website. So we hope youll consider this offer
from Bread for the World to learn more about where the long list of
those running for President in 2016, but running hard already,
stands on the issue of hunger in our country and around the world.

Disciples' congregations in the PSWR. This year the prizes are as
follows: 1st Prize -- Two Tickets to a series of plays at the

items for the auction, Donna will be glad to accept them as well.A
final word is this: Those of you who are golfers may be part of
