Congratulations

NJROTC Mariners!

Congrats to the PHS NJROTC for qualifying for the second straight year for the Area Eleven Super Bowl, California State Championship. 45 cadets traveled to Lemoore California and placed 3rd in overall Drill, 4th in Academics, 4th in Physical Fitness, and third place overall. The most impressive was that our NJROTC Color Guard won first place over Troy High School which placed 4th in National Competition last year. So far this year, our cadets have qualified for the Brain Brawl State Championship, and the Orienteering State Championship! Outstanding job Mariner Cadets!

& Our cadets competed in the California State Championships in orienteering yesterday at Vazquez Rocks. We placed 4th overall and 3rd in State so I'm waiting on official word to see if we have qualified for Nationals. Nationals is February 16-18 in Orlando Florida!

Results of Competition:

Caleb Huang - 8th in State Varsity Males

Mary Klaire Jamandre - 4th in State JV Females

Freshman Orienteering Team - 2nd in State Overall

Dean Dang - 5th in Freshman State Males

Kevin Le - 4th in Freshman State Males

Wendy Tran - Freshman State Champion Female

Pacifica Pride Week 4

On December 20, Pacifica High School hosted more than 400 kindergarten students at the school’s annual Adopt-A-Child event where Pacifica high school seniors were paired up with kindergartners who they “adopt” for a morning of gift-giving, cookie decorating, games, train rides, photos with Santa Claus, and other holiday fun. Adopt-A-Child has been a Pacifica winter tradition for more than 30 years.

PTSA Fundraiser Be a Part of Something Special!

Pacifica PTSA has an exciting online fundraiser running through mid-January. Check out Pacifica

Mariners PTSA Instagram and Facebook pages for details.

We need your help for a successful fundraiser to allow for PTSA to purchase refillable water bottle

stations, ergonomic furniture for the media center, campus pride graphics, student planners and

more! You don't need to buy anything, just simply share the fundraising site and ask friends and

family to donate on behalf of the student you know at PHS. PTSA receives the funds and you will

receive credit and awesome rewards!

Several students already earned the extra bonus for submitting or getting someone to submit a $25

online donation by the 12/20 deadline. They will receive TWO FREE Boomers mini golf for use during

winter break. Other student incentives include, but are not limited to: Four-Star Movie theater gift

cards and Great Wolf Lodge Water Park admission on 1/29 (not student day).

Pacifica PTSA appreciates your help in spreading the word to make this a successful fundraising campaign.
