Blaydon St Joseph's
is a voluntary aided Catholic school and promoting the Catholic ethos is central to what we do. Our school is situated in the Bor-ough of Gateshead in the North-
East of England. . Governors, staff, parents and pupils aim to preserve the Catholic ethos of the school, with all members of the school community showing respect for one another. We aim to build on the high standards achieved in teaching and learning and provide a varied curriculum which gives pu-pils the opportunity to achieve high standards through high quality teaching and learning. As with all schools in England our work is centred around the premise that, ‘Every Child Matters’ We be-lieve that this project will enable us to evaluate our current provision and through partnership work with other schools both within our com-munity and through this Comenius Project we will be able to improve our school so that all of our chil-dren thrive within school.

Janusz Korczak’s 47th Integrative
Middle School
in Lodz is an experienced Comenius
projects participant full of students will-
ing to broaden their horizons and teach-
ers giving them a chance to experience
more and more. The inauguration of the
project was a big event at our school and
our Headmistress Barbara Celmerowska
– a great Comenius enthusiast – had a
chance to officially launch this amazing
scheme of Forever Europe. Our students
have unique opportunity to take part in
large variety of inspiring eco-based ac-
tivities starting from lectures, field biol-
ogy classes to international exchanges.
Sometimes they have to work harder but
they develop this kind of mature under-
standing of work and profit. This is how
we want to see our school – demanding
but open and user friendly :-)

“Gökçebağ Primary School” is located in one of Siirt’s town called Gökçebağ, a socially and economically disadvantaged area. The school takes its name from the town which is far from the center of the city for a few minutes. The town is also famous for its pistachio and grape vineyard. The school has two main buildings and there is also a kindergarten part of the school. There are 280 students aged between 4 and 12. They are divided into 13 classes, mostly same age, but with some mixed age classes. There are an ICT room, Science Laboratory and a Library. The education process is ensured by 13 teachers assisted by a school coun-selor. This will be our first partnership in Co-menius project and we are looking for-ward to the experience. We hope to build on existing partnerships and gain a valua-ble insight into the way new partner schools in other parts of Europe, deal with both unity and diversity not only in the schools but in their wider communi-ties. Moreover, we want to join other schools sharing knowledge and experi-ences, which will result in developing LLP-related goals in the field of ICT, learning languages, improved accessibil-ity and effectiveness of education to all students, active citizenship, and related issues. Our school project is called Commemo-
rative small forest We want to plant seeds
of trees and flowers in order to save and
sustain ecological balance.
