Calcium Products, Inc. (CPI)
is a 25 year old Iowa-based company perfectly
situated to take the earth’s gifts of gypsum and
limestone and transform them into highly
efficient products which make it possible for
agricultural producers to optimize the soil.
Founded in 1987, the company’s heritage is tied
to the Midwest Limestone Company, a long
time participant in the development of the
Gilmore City Quarries.
The opening of the new production facility in
Fort Dodge is the company’s third production
facility to grind, prill, dry, package or bulk-load
their products 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Two of
the plants are in Fort Dodge with a third in Gilmore City near
their administration office. The company also has a large
warehouse in Aplington, Iowa for storage.
“Not only are we thrilled to be expanding our production
capabilities, we’re also thrilled to be adding jobs to our local
economy,” said Craig Dick, vice president of sales and
marketing. “Once we open this new plant and add some new
team members, we’ll have more than 70 employees.”

Over 50 years Experience
Calcium Products, Inc.,is recognized as the leading specialists in processing
super fine powder and pelletizing it. They developed
the industry’s most efficient operation for turning
pure limestone, gypsum, humates and other
materials into practical, easy to use, highly
effective granular products. Other company’s’
processed pelletized powders may lack particle
and pellet uniformity, which cause problems with
excessive dust and slow pellet breakdown. Calcium
Product’s SuperCal products have been specifically
engineered to solve those issues making them more
effective.
“Many people don’t yet understand the connection
between healthy soil and healthy crops or lawns”, said Dick.
“We have two signature products, SuperCal 98G pelletized
limestone from our plant in Gilmore City and SuperCal SO4
pelletized gypsum from our plants in Fort Dodge that enhance soil and soil
makeup. The SuperCal 98G allows the soil to maintain an optimal pH essential for plant growth and SuperCal SO4 supplies
necessary plant nutrients such as calcium and sulfur while amending the soil structure which fights compaction and allows for
better water filtration.”
While CPI’s core business is traditional agriculture fertilizer
dealers, their products are a vital part of responsible stewardship
of land and water resources.
When producers use these
products they are taking an
active role in improving plants’
fertilizer uptake which reduces
leaching of fertilizers into nearby
soil and water. This improves the
quality of the soil, prevents
erosion and preserves ground
water. That may seem like a bold
claim for such modest products,
but Calcium Products, Inc., has
the science to back it.
Farm fields aren’t the only areas benefitted by CPI products. In
2008 the company began outreach to the turf market. It has
been readily accepted and can now be found on many city parks,
athletic fields and golf courses around the United States
including the famed Torrey Pines,
Southern Hills, Bandon Dunes and
TPC Deer Run. This division of the
company has more info at
CalciumProductsTurf.com.
“This is still a growing market for
us but we look forward to
working with many more
wonderful courses and parks in
the future,” Dick said.
The company is launching a division of products for the home
user. This line will be sold under the name Pure Elements and will
be found in locally-owned garden centers this coming spring.

SuperCal SO4SuperCal SO4 provides 17% sulfur in a sulfate
form, the only way for plants to absorb it.
SuperCal SO4 is more than just a high quality sul-
fur fertilizer, it also provides calcium to improve
the soil structure, aeration and drainage. That
results in increased water infiltration while reduc-
ing soil surface crusting and improving seedling
emergence. SuperCal SO4 also helps break up
compacted soil, increasing rooting depth, helps
stabilize organic matter and decreases nitrogen
loss to the atmosphere.
SuperCal 98GSuperCal 98G pelletized lime raises soil pH faster
and more effectively than other lime products.
Made from 98% pure calcitic limestone ground
extremely fine (to make it most effective) and
then formed into pellets much like dry fertilizer.
The resulting product means producers don’t
experience poor performance from material too
coarse to break down or so fine it blows away, as
agricultural lime does. SuperCal 98G pelletized
lime is easy to handle and can be mixed with
other dry fertilizers to apply. It even costs less
than traditional agricultural lime on equivalent
rates per acre. To test those money-saving claims,
visit calciumproducts.com and use their SuperCal
98G calculator to plug in your numbers to see
how much you could save.
Their Ag ProductsThere is a reason some farm fields
produce a better and higher
yielding crop —
it is all about soil and the nutrients the soil provides the plant.
Calcium Products is the foremost source of high quality soil improvement
products for farmers seeking higher yields through better soil quality.
To optimize soil performance, CPI offers the following pelletized products:

Achieving great things for our community
Modern Products for Modern FarmingCALCIUM PRODUCTS, INC., HAS SOLVED THE PROBLEM OF POOR APPLICATIONAND INCONSISTENT PERFORMANCE THROUGH ITS ADVANCED PROCESSES.
Ag lime has been around for
decades, and has served farmers
well in the past. Today's modern
farming strategy requires
products that complement the
technology used to apply farm
inputs. Today's farmers employ
global position variable rate
technology to precisely apply the
correct amount of product on
the precise acre that requires it.
Farmers and applicators spend many hours developing precision
application maps to properly apply inputs. Mis-application of farm
inputs is costly to the farmer, reduces yields and can impact our
environment.
Ag lime and ag gypsum have major problems. They must be finely
ground to be effective. Finely ground ag lime and gypsum drifts off
target, reducing the beneficial impact for the farmer. SuperCal
products reduce drift loss and ensure the farmers inputs land on the
specific acre that requires it. Proper application means reduced cost
and increased performance for the farmer with less product applied.
