The Cal 1 Card has three functions:Official Photo ID CardDebit Card – Add funds to your debit account to make quick and easy cash-free purchases at a variety of on and off campus merchant locations (https://cal1card.berkeley.edu/merchants/cal1card-merchants) as well as for residence hall laundry services and printing services at the Library and Residential computing center locations.Access Card – Access many campus benefits including library services, card key access to residence halls, campus buildings and classrooms, and access to meal plan points at all Cal Dining locations.
Summer Session students living in the dorms will receive the initial Cal 1 Card during move-in. Please remember that the Cal 1 Card is nontransferable. If you lose your card, you should report the loss immediately in online at cal1card.berkeley.edu/login (i.e. select the “Report Lost Card” link).
To add funds to your Cal 1 Card debit account or for other general information on the Cal 1 Card, please visit cal1card.berkeley.edu.
The Cal 1 Card office is located at 180 Cesar Chavez Student Center in Lower Sproul Plaza. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, call 510-643-6839.
