Supervisors/Managers:

If you make use of the online training

available through

WSU’s HRS website, Skillsoft, you can

streamline the

record-keeping portion of

your safety training

responsibilities.

https://hrs.wsu.edu/training/

Safety Corner Here are six safety trainings you should be aware of:

• Back Injury and Safety Prevention

• Slips, Trips and Falls

• Emergency and Fire Safety Preparedness

• Portable Fire Extinguisher Safety

• Office Ergonomics

• Asbestos Hazard Awareness (Asbestos Online Training on the Environmental Health and Safety Website)

CAHNRS has specific training and

Agricultural safety training available on

the CAHNRS safety website: https://

operations.cahnrs.wsu.edu/safety/

safety-training/

Check it out.

NOTICE: Due to a browser update, online safety trainings currently don’t work

in Chrome. HRS is working on a solution, but until the issue is resolved,

employees should use another browser (such as Internet Explorer or Firefox)

to take the online safety training.

Accident Reporting Information sheet available

Accident reporting flyers are available,

thanks to Jonathan Lomber, who worked

with EHS to develop them.

Safety bulletin board tool kit to help keep

safety notifications up to date and en-

gaging will soon be available.

Cougar Safety

Award... Dixie Kearney, Operations Coor-

dinator for CAHRNS Operations,

was recognized for her contribu-

tions to safety at the WSU Safe-

ty, Health and Security Fair in

October 2018.

Since assuming her role with

CAHNRS, Dixie revitalized the

College safety committee, work-

ing diligently to improve

CAHNRS’ accident prevention

program. Ms. Kearney devel-

oped the CAHNRS safety web-

site, providing many safety re-

sources to CAHNRS personnel,

including safety training content.

Whether a health, safety, or se-

curity concern is identified by a

CAHNRS employee or an out-

side partner, Dixie readily en-

gages to help identify a solution.

Dixie is a tremendous advocate

for safety within the College, on

the Pullman campus and loca-

tions across the State.

We encourage you to share your stories of operational successes with us for future publication. Stories or story ideas can be sent to

Kat Odell at [email protected].
