2. Course description :

Computer Aided Design aims at introducing the students about computer applications in design process. The students should be familiar in the design area. Design of the parts means designing a new part or modifying the existing part. The subject explains about the design of different components by considering various loads acting on it. The complete design of the component also includes the analysis of the designed component. The analysis includes kinematic analysis, mass properties analysis like moment of Inertia, Centroid etc. The subject makes the students to learn different analysis packages like ANSYS, NASTRON and NISA –II. The subject gives idea about artificial intelligence and its applications in computer aided design.

3. Scope and objectives :

This course is built on the student’s background in COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN. It covers some basic perspectives about conventional design process, and application of in different stages of design, CAD systems hardware and software. Input and Out put devices, benefits of CAD. Graphical user Interface, Graphics systems and standards. Different geometric modeling techniques like wire frame modeling, solid modeling etc., This subject gives idea about different types of transformations in 2D and 3D. It gives idea about basic concepts of finite element analysis It gives exposure to cad applications and cad packages. 4. Prerequisite:
