The following section covers cables for use on military vessels, e.g. HM Surface Ships, Submarines, etc. Therange covered is only part of the total designs of cable available and is intended as a guide to the mostpopular types. The cables are covered by the following standards:- DEF61-12 - Defence Standard - wires, cords& cables. DS (Defence Standard) N.B. DS, (Defence Standard) are former NES (Naval Engineering Standard).
