For decades, Agfa has been the industry leader in pre-press solutions for the graphics-arts market, and a leader in computer-to-film and computer-to-plate systems.

The solutions offered by Agfa include hardware, consumables, software and professional services, all coming from just one company.

Agfa continues to offer innovative products, which address the needs of its customers and enable them to improve their quality and increase their profitability.

Agfa has many years of expertise in imaging technologies: from photographic material to digital offset plates; from high-quality computer-to-plate systems, to software solutions for workflow, project management and system integration.

Agfa also has the reputation of being a very customer-focused supplier, and therefore, most of its customers are extremely loyal.

This is not only because of its reliable products, but also because of its dedicated and professional sales force and after-sales organisation.

Agfa will continue to build in the years to come, on its experience, and will continue to increase its market share in the traditional offset business.

Agfa is a strong believer in the power of the printed media. Although many new electronic communication media have been introduced, Agfa is convinced that printed and electronic media will be complementary technologies in the communication mix of the future. 001

In the world of “ink to media,” technologies are changing rapidly. Supplanting traditional offset and flexo printing, digital-printing solutions are now becoming much more common technologies. Shorter print runs, faster turn-around times, personalisation and variable data are all making digital printingindispensable for many printers. Agfa has been investing for many years in research and development, in order to offer market-unique solutions that will enable their customers to stay ahead of competitors.

We are also paying close attention to the design needs of our printers.

Performance and quality are, of course, crucial for an industrial product. But the importance of a well-designed printer

cannot be underestimated. In general, most wide-format printers have a similar and, let’s be honest, rather dull design.

Agfa has paid special attention to design, in order to create added value. For these special efforts, Agfa received in 2006

the internationnaly respected IF International Forum Design award for the design of the :Anapurna printers

in the Industrial Products Category .

This award is not only about design, but also about attention to ergonomics. Just recently Agfa was nominated

for the red dot Design Award 2007 for the exceptional industrial design of the :M-Press.

So the Agfa :Anapurna printers are not only very stylish, but are also very user-friendly.

Agfa is investing mainly in industrial inkjet solutions, based on UV-curable inks. We aim to become a leading manufacturer in the industrial wide-format inkjet market. Our target is to have a market share of 25% by 2009 in UV-curable wide-format applications. Surveys clearly indicate this market is growing rapidly, and Agfa has all the technologies available to cover most, if not all, applications.Becoming a worldwide player in the industral inkjet market is, of course, only possible by working in partnership with professional and highly motivated sales teams.

Today, Agfa introduces its C3-Systems, a portfolio of digital solutions, based on Agfa’s proprietary state-of-art, UV technologies.

C3 stands for complete on all levels. Three different families of UV-based systems: Complete Integration, Complete Services, Complete Benefits.

C3-Systems offer completeness to the power of 3:

C3-Systems from Agfa offer complete solutions for all possible UV applications, digital, wide-format printing, sign, display, graphic screen, digital photo printing, labels, packaging, point of purchase, point of sales, direct mail, billboards, transactional, transpromotional, and many other applications.001

COMPLETE INTEGRATION The perfect tuning of UV-curable inks, sophisticated printing heads and the inkjet printer or press.

COMPLETE BENEFITSC3 delivers a Complete set of Benefits:vibrant colour, prints with resistant and

durable images and printers withincreased productivity.

COMPLETE SERVICESC3 represents Complete Services, including installation and maintenance by Agfa’s worldwideservice team, spare parts, training and financing tools.

Page 8: C3 -Systems from Agfa

The :Anapurna family of industrial wide-format printers, the :M-Press, and the :Dotrix family of industrial presses are all C3-Systems from Agfa, based on UV-curable inks. Their uniqueness stems from their completeness.

Each printer (or press) delivers high-quality prints because of the perfect match between the UVinks, the print heads, the printer (or press) and the workflow software, resulting in the perfect system integration.

Over 20,000 ink droplets (picolitre-volume) are jetted, per nozzle, per second, from a head that travels approximately 1 mm above the media at a speed of over 1,000 mm per second. Thanks to that perfect match those droplets still land on the exact location, producing a well-formed, cured, rounded dot, with no spray or satellite droplets surrounding it.001

Page 9: C3 -Systems from Agfa

The C3-Systems printers include more than the box they came in. Clients can choose from different levels of service and support, and operators can receive intensive training for the various related activities. Both Agfa and dealers can help in financing the purchase.

The C3-Systems printers offer users convincing benefits to boost their business: vibrant colours — thanks to the superb Agfa in-house-developed and manufactured UV inks,— reproducing a large colour gamut, resistant, durable images, perfect for either indoor or outdoor use, high scratch and cleaning-agent resistance, as well as long-term weather-ability.

The UV technology used for the “instant curing” of the inks increases the productivityof the printers; the capability of printing on both flexible and rigid media adds considerably to the versatility of the media used.

C3-Systems can print on almost anything.

Just how precise are the C3-Systems printers?

Besides the current :Anapurna L and XL, the new :Anapurna XL2 and :Anapurna M offer high resolution printing.

:Anapurna XL2 printers can jet 20 thousand drops per second, per nozzle, onto a substrate.

That is 40 million drops per second for the entire printer.

:Anapurna M printers produce a resolution of 1440 x 720 dpi, which equals 1,036,800 dots per square inch.

Ink can be jetted onto all 1 million of these pixels.

The heads travel at only 1.5 mm (0.059 in) across the substrate, in order to guarantee the exact placement of the ink drop

and to avoid "ink spray".001

Agfa’s three families of industrial inkjet systems are capable of addressing the segment-specific needs of a demanding customer base.

:M-Press, :Dotrix and :Anapurna represent state-of-the-art technology. The range of :Anapurna printers meet the requirements of the three key customer target groups:graphic screen printers, sign makers and photo labs. Flexible budgeting means that a solution can be found for each and every type of customer.

UV-curable technology: speed, ease and minimum impact on the environment

By employing UV-curable inkjet technology, C3-Systems from Agfa can deliver quality prints faster, easier and with considerably less impact on the environment than the competition, and at affordable costs.

:M-Press, a high-speed, flatbed press, can print both short and long runs, and it can do it economically. :Dotrix, with its range of presses, utilises single-pass, roll-to-roll technology that translates into significantly higher speeds. :Anapurna’s range of wide-format UV printers anticipates varying capital-investment budgets, but still provides quality and productivity.

Three systems, all based on identical know-how, for three very different customer groups.

Inks, heads and printer completely integrated: the perfect match, which only one company can claim

Perfect integration means delivering a high-quality product

Over the past few years, Agfa has been developing inks, heads and printers — both in-house, based on its long experience in consumables and imaging technologies, and also with partners— to ensure a perfect integration of all the pieces in the technology puzzle.

For example, the Konica and Spectra heads used in the :Anapurna printer range match seamlessly with the head-specific, UV-ink set developed by Agfa.

A team of more than thirty experienced chemists are developing and optimizing the inksdaily, in order to obtain the optimal quality for each application.

To ensure the production of quality wide-format output, Agfa has fully integrated its customised“waveforms” with the heads it uses, thus controlling more precisely the interaction between the head and the ink. Also augmenting product quality is the tailor-made Agfa Edition Wasatch SoftRIP technology, which ensures that electronic image data files are received correctly by the printer, and that the final output is true to the original.

The benefits resulting from the complete integration of the three printing elements in the C3-Systemsprinters are many, and are perfectly reflected in a predictable, consistent high-quality output.

> Integrating inks, heads and printers — completely — that have been developed either

by Agfa or in close cooperation with its partners

> Delivering quality and unparalleled performance as a result of the perfect matching

A complete range of benefits based on one family of printers

All Agfa C3 inkjet printers offer a triumvirate of benefits to the customer.

Vibrant colours

First and foremost among the benefits is the extraordinary richness of colour, or the so-called colour gamut, whether the image quality is at the photo or billboard level. Inkjet heads, be theygreyscale or binary, deliver smooth tints and high resolution. A white-ink option displays text or images on any kind of background, no matter what the colour, thus enhancing visibility.

Resistant, durable images

The C3-Systems ensure that the printed product has longevity and durability. The images are scratch- and cleaning-agent-resistant, even when they are exposed to the elements for up to three years.

Increased productivity

UV-“instant curing” technology means inks dry instantly and prints can be removed, stored or shipped immediately. This frees up the printer for another job, and increases productivity.C3-Systems printers stand for high productivity — increased up-time. Operator maintenance is minimal. Replacing UV lamps can be done by the operator in a matter of minutes. The system provides the ability to quickly change media thickness, to print two boards simultaneously (dual-board printing) and to perform borderless printing, all of which reduces addi-tional finishing time and costs. In addition, media up to 2.5 metres (8.53 feet) wide can be produced. Agfa guarantees high-quality, after-sales service and support during the lifetime of the printer.001

To ensure trouble-free installations Agfa has implemented a pre-installation inspection checklist. On the basis of a customer visit, Agfa will determine whether the site meets the general requirements. After this check, Agfa can perform a seamless installation.

Training, service and support

Agfa offers full installation, complete training and service and support for its complete line of C3-Systems. In addition to the standard customer-operator training for all inkjet printers, that covers basics such asset-up, using profiles and maintenance procedures, Agfa also provides more in-depth courses on the:Anapurna system (e.g., key-operator and application training). In terms of “break & fix,” or service andsupport, the customer can sign up for Silver or Bronze service contracts, depending on the required support level. Most of the C3-Systems printers come with a full-year warranty on all parts and labour.

A customer-specific financial tool

No two customers’ needs are ever the same, which is why Agfa developed its easy-to-use Cost ofOwnership (COO)-calculation tool. With this software tool, the customer’s complete cost structure can be laidout, and the cost of ownership can be determined, based on specific needs. Both Agfa and your dealers canassist the customer in determining the most optimal financing solutions for the installation.

C3 UV inks: meeting eight critical criteria

Just how well inks perform during printing and hold up afterwards is determined primarily by eight critical criteria. By meeting these criteria, C3-systems UV inks insure higher print reliability, better adhesion and fewer ecological hazards.

1) Jetting reliability — During printing, with over 20,000 nozzles in use every second, jetting reliability of inks is absolutely critical — blocked nozzles can simply not deliver a perfect image. All Agfa UV-curable inks have optimal jetting capabilities to ensure this reliability.

2) Rheology control (frequency of “spitting”) — Viscosity, shear rate and waveform design are crucial parameters to ensure a proper drop formation, as well as the depositing process needed to guarantee flawless printing results.

Deposing a perfect drop

3) Colour gamut — C3-Systems six-colour gamut — CMYK Lc Lm and white — is very large and allows for production of many special or spot colours.001

Page 27: C3 -Systems from Agfa

4) Weather-ability — The inks are able to weather outdoor elements for up to three years, which means virtually no fading and permanent, strong adhesion.

5) Scratch- and solvent-resistant — Agfa UV-curable inks use high-quality pigments that are very resistant to scratching and chemicals. This ensures that over time, the print retains its vibrant colours.

6) Flexibility of substrates — The inks can print on a wide variety of flexible substrates, which opens up new markets for your customers.

7) Adhesion — Whether the substrate is flexible or rigid, adhesion is very good with Agfa’s UV-curable inks, as is the light fastness. Those media to which they adhere particularly well include banner materials such as canvas and vinyl, Forex, PVC foam sheet, billboard blueback paper, Dibond (coated aluminium compositepanel) and corrugated cardboard. For some other materials, especially those that are very smooth or highly polished, a primer will help to assure proper adhesion.

8) Shelf life — When stored in their original, sealed containers, under recommended conditions, most of the Agfa inks have a shelf life of twelve months. This facilitates a good logistical process.

Patents

Agfa continues to invest significant resources in the research and development of its superior inks,

and can lay claim to 20 UV-curable, inkjet printers, engine and related software patents.

Since 2004, Agfa has registered 51 inkjet patents, and 54 inkjet equipment and software patents.001

Page 28: C3 -Systems from Agfa

Benefits

The benefits that accrue from meeting these eight critical criteria are in image quality, productivity, health and ecology. Agfa inks virtually totally eliminate gloss banding, when used with unidirectional printing, a high number of passes, or our colour-profiling technology. This results in the highest-quality prints without incurring the highest costs. The inks’ low-irritancy properties mean that when operators wear the appropriate protective gearthey are not at risk while working with the inks. Additionally, their ingredients, which are ecologically friendly, give off fewer odours than othertypes of inks, and have low toxicity and zero ozone-depleting agents.

Agfa C3-Systems come equipped with an effective ventilation system.UV technology allows an almost instant drying of the inks, on a wide range of media, both rigid andflexible. The print can be removed from the printer, stored or transported immediately. This means a faster workflow and turnaround. And no more idle time.

This diagram is pure information. Agfa Graphics is continuously working on improving all ink characteristics to their optimum standard. 00

C3 print heads: producing photographic-quality resolution, drop by drop

Photographic quality and increased productivity

The :Anapurna M uses Konica printheads and a maximum resolution of 1440 x 720 dpi, or 1,036,800 dots per square inch, ideal for printing photographic output quality. For the highest-resolution printing, every square inch of the substrate is divided into over a million microscopic squares, each one being inked by a single drop. This extraordinary level of detail demands the kind of precision, reliability, power and ink that only Agfa C3-Systems can produce.

The :Anapurna XL2 uses Spectra Galaxy printheads and a maximum resolution of 635 x 800 dpi, and can produce 20,000 drops per second, per nozzle. With 256 nozzles per printer head, and 8 heads on this printer, this translates into 40 million drops per second. Overall, :Anapurnaprinters offer a wide choice of different quality modes: 6, 8, 12 or 16 passes — the more passes the higher the quality — and use various print heads to achieve different levels of resolution: the appropriate printer for the required application.

Performance criteria for print heads

When determining the performance of a printer, four primary inkjet head characteristics are important: jetting power, jetting detail, jetting precision and ink type. Together, these determine how much ink is ejected, in what droplet size and with what precision. They also have an important impact on the speed of the printing. These characteristics ultimatelydetermine the quality and productivity of the printer, better addressing each market segment.001

Page 31: C3 -Systems from Agfa

001

The print-head technology behind C3

Agfa’s C3-Systems shared-wall, piezoelectric, drop-on-demand (DOD) print-head technology. The advantages of DOD technology include greater quality, robustness and reliability of jetting, as well as a higher operating speed.

> Jetting power, detail and precision deliver superior photographic quality and increased productivity.

> Agfa C3-Systems use drop-on-demand, Piezo, shared-wall, print-head technology.> DOD technology helps achieve reliability and higher operating speeds.

Shingling and interlacing — Whether printing

horizontally (shingling) or vertically (interlacing),

C3-Systems printing heads can perform a drop-alternating

technique which means that adjacent drops

have time to set before the next one lands.

This avoids banding and results in a high quality of print.

GRAPHICSCREENPRINTERS00

1

Page 35: C3 -Systems from Agfa

For years, graphic screen printers have been experiencing several blocking issues that the C3-Systems from Agfa today can help them solve.

Until now, they could not perform cost-efficient short runs, because the analogue screen-printing technology requires substantial start-up costs and time(films, screens, etc.).

With their current modus operandi, these graphic screen printers also face long job start-up times, which means that they often have to say “no” to potential quick-turnaround work.

Due to the nature of the analogue screen-printing process, variable-data printing is not possible.

Typically, a screen printer is accustomed to dealing with UV-curable inks over a period of manyyears. If the printer decides to complement his or her system with digital, or to switch it totally todigital, the choice is very obvious: UV-curable technology. Continuing with solvent or eco-solventsystems is the equivalent of "going back in time." Also, the working conditions for the printer’s employees are important. With UV-curable inks, no fundamental changes to the infrastructure need to be made, while with any other technology, there would be health and safety issues for the personnel, as well as additional investments.

Agfa C3-Systems can provide graphic screen printers with answers to most of their needs.

SIGNMAKERS00

1

Page 37: C3 -Systems from Agfa

Sign makers represent a significant market. They need very high quality of output (signs) at an affordable capital-equipment investment. Their specific printing needs include a large gamut, an outstanding solid reproduction, being able to print on both rigid and roll-to-roll substrates, and high-quality, borderless printing.

One area where Agfa can help is in image quality. Sign makers need to reproduce flat tints and fine details, and our C3-Systems printers can provide those.

Overall, the good news is that C3-Systems address both currentand future needs of sign makers, which means that they can become an important part of our customer base.

World-class systems deserve world-class support

Service is the second cornerstone of the C3-Systems. It includes three elements: installation and technical services, training, and financial support.Agfa has years of experience and is known for its dedication in providing a quality of service that matches the quality of its products. That is why, for our C3-Systems, service quality is not an afterthought, but an integral part of the entire solution offered to the customer. This makes Agfa unique in the world of wide-format printers.

To ensure trouble-free installations of :Anapurna printers, Agfa has implemented an onsite,pre-installation inspection checklist. A customer onsite visit is carried out to determine whether it meets the general requirements, space, temperature and humidity conditions, and storage area availability.

The end result is that Agfa can perform a seamless installation and the customer is up and running immediately.

> White papers and demos: publications, webinars and podcasts developed by Agfa engineers provide know-how and training, as needed.

> Comprehensive diagnostic, technical, maintenance and repair services onsite, and remotely.001

Bronze Service Maintenance Agreement

Duration: 1, 2 or 3 years

The Bronze contract consists of a parts-only contract between Agfa’s Global Services and the end-user. The replacement of parts and/or ordering can only be performed by an Agfa certified engineer, or an Agfa Certified Custom Engineer (ACCE), after extensive training at Agfa. The parts are requested to be returned to Agfa.

This contract is designed for customers who have their own maintenance team. After extensive training, they are capable of maintaining the system with the remote assistance ofAgfa specialists.

The program includes:

> Priority telephone response time > All spare parts and freight cost> Unlimited telephone and remote support for all hardware and equipment-related software> Remote access module for diagnostic, maintenance and production control. (if applicable) > Field change orders, documentation and installation> Includes preventative maintenance> 10% rebate for services outside the scope of the contract such as removal services, application

TrainingThere are four levels of training available for customers:

1. Customer Operator Training (standard): This covers equipment functionality and use of the equipment (safety, RIP setup, maintenance procedures, control program, engine start-up, basic system components, etc.)

2. Customer Key Operator Training (only for :Anapurna): This more in-depth course will cover the function of the machine and the required operator maintenanceactions. The part concerning technical first-aid will teach the operator how to change and align printingheads and perform basic repair functions. This will mainly cover hardware functionality.

3. Advanced Consumer Training (“Certified Customer Engineer”) (Standard): This applies only to :Anapurna and is applicable for customers with a Bronze contract who have a very experienced and technically knowledgeable support staff. This is an in-depth customer service training with the goal of performing first-level support (including PMV) on systems using customer-support staff. Yearly updates can be mandatory.

4. Dealer Application Training (:Anapurna) and Customer Application Training (:Dotrix/:M-Press): This training will teach trainees how the RIP and Workflow works, as well as how to profile the system when new media needs to be used. The student will understand how to make a profile, how to test the result, and how to tweak the profile. For this course it is advisable that the student understands colour and colour-management principles. A photo spectrometer and a profiling application is required to build the profiles. Optionally, our servicesare able to provide additional training concerning colour management and can provide the :Annapurna dealer with advice on the purchase of a photo spectrometer. 001

Technology support is based on expert know-how

Agfa places great importance on maintaining a superior service organization. Service engineers are equipped with the most up-to-date diagnostic tools. Field engineers receive at least 140 hours of training per year, as well.

While most diagnostics in the past had to be conducted on site, new technologies now permit some systems to be monitored, diagnosed and repaired remotely.

Agfa’s patented :Intellsyst technology allows these systems to be repaired faster and pro-actively to minimise any downtime.

Flexible service contracts for individual needs

Agfa service contracts have been developed based on our long experience working with our customers and supporting them.

The customer selects the right level of service, based on factors such as typical response time,repair-hours availability, parts coverage, telephone technical support, remote diagnosis, preventive maintenance, software updates/patches, call prioritisation, additional training and consulting.

The added value is apparent when one compares offering these services on an ad hoc basis versusoffering them through a service contract that provides what the customer needs, at a fixed budget.Contracts can be signed for one, two or three years.

With all the advantages of Agfa C3-Systems, the next question is: when is the right moment for the customer to switch?

Agfa has developed a complete Cost of Ownership (COO) financial toolto determine the exact cost structure of an Agfa C3-system. Included with this Sales Guide is a DVD which will walk the customer through all aspects of the tool, and which can demonstrate how the software calculates the ROI, based on the figures that havebeen entered. It also shows how the tool provides detailed information, per substrate, on mediacosts, labour costs, income, profit, amortisation, etc. The result is a clear and precise breakdown of the exact financial impact of the purchase.

It is important to note that the customer needs to fill in all relevant information, together with the dealer, in order to formalise the input.

The COO tool takes out all the financial guesswork for the customer, allowing the creation of his or her own purchase scenarios, changing the service contract selected, for example, or the labour costs. The customer has a clear view of the financial implications of converting to an Agfa C3-system, and he or she can determine the right moment to make the switch.
