contents as well as disposing of adjacent contaminated soil. • A TM Plan was developed to maintain traffic flows and
minimise disruption to road users including pedestrians. Special consideration was given to seasonal requirements of the major trunk road during the summer months.
• Asbsetos removal by our specialist ARCA.
To minimise our carbon footprint, all surplus excavated material on site were recycled and used as fill over landscaped areas. Excavated material from the trencher operation was not acceptable for use as backfill within the highway and was returned to the airfield site and reused. We worked together as an integrated team with the Client and designers to an agreed timeline and expected quality standards. Our experience on the DCWW framework aided our efficiency and understanding of the pipeline element. The efficiencies and improvements implemented included: • Allocating adequate and appropriate resources to mobilise
the contract and maintain programme outputs. We made effective use of the programme to address potential slippage concerns.
• Involvement of an ecological bat expert at an early stage to mitigate lengthy delays to the contract.
Principal Supply Chain Partners: JBHL delivered substantive elements of the contract using our
directly employed workforce and extensive selection of modern construction plant. The following activities were subcontracted: • Trenching Contractor • Traffic Management • Street Lighting • Mechanical/Electrical work on Pumping Stations • Surfacing works • Bat Surveyor
All subcontractor activities were managed in accordance with our ISO accredited processes and procedures.
References: Mr Brian Evans, Senior Construction Executive with WAG: ‘Just a short note to thank you for your company’s efforts in achieving maximum output within the contract period for works recently completed. For my part I am pleased with the organisation which you set up and executed on the site in carrying out the works’.
