1. In the M.Phil and Ph.D. programme worked with most dangerous
zoonotic hydatid disease for the first time in Kashmir Valley
dealing with its prevalence in humans with respect to Age, sex,
occupation, and socio-economic conditions; Usefulness of various
techniques for its diagnosis; Effects of anthelmintics on pulmonary
hydatid cysts; Histopathology of infected tissues especially liver
and lungs to study the pathological changes; Prevalence of
hydatid disease in livestock with respect to age, sex, breed etc.;
Fertility and viability of cysts. Public health and economic
importance of hydatid disease; Prevalence of Echinococcosis in
dogs; Effects of Health education programmes for the control of
hydatid disease.
2. For the first time in Kashmir Valley:- 13 helminth parasites have
been reported in small ruminants. Seasonal distribution of
helminth parasites in small ruminants grazing in tableland and
highland pastures was studied. Impact of helminthiasis on
haematological picture of small ruminants has been worked out.
Biochemical changes due to helminth parasites in small ruminants
were studies. Immunological studies in small ruminants.
