GLORIA (“Mass of Renewal”) MUSIC: WILLIAM GOKELMAN
1. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father. (REFRAIN)
2. Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. (REFRAIN)
3. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen. (REFRAIN)
GOSPEL: JOHN 10:1-10 HOMILY CREED: I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
(all bow at words of the following line) who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

✙ A SPIRITUAL COMMUNION PRAYER: Jesus, beloved Redeemer and Brother, I believe that you are present in this Most Holy Sacrament. I love you above all earthly things and possessions. I believe that your Risen Body dwells within the depths of my soul, and within the presence of one another. While I cannot receive you physically at this time, I welcome you, and receive you spiritually into my heart. I unite myself wholly to you. I pray that your Holy Spirit will guide me to remember that, moment by moment, it is only through you that I live, and move, and have my being. I believe your love will never allow me to be separated from you. Amen. MEDITATION SONG: SHELTER ME (“PRAYER DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC”)*
WORDS & MUSIC: MICHAEL JONCAS
1. Shepherd and sheep, my God and I: to fresh green fields you led my steps in days gone by. You gave me rest by quiet springs and filled my soul with peace your loving presence brings.
REFRAIN: O SHELTER ME, O SHELTER ME: THE WAY AHEAD IS DARK AND DIFFICULT TO SEE. O SHELTER ME, O SHELTER ME: ALL WILL BE WELL IF ONLY YOU WILL SHELTER ME.
2. Yet now I walk a diff ’rent way: Death dogs my path with stealthy steps from day to day. I cannot find your peaceful place but walk in dreary darkness longing for your face. (REFRAIN)
3. I will look back in days to come and realize your faithfulness led me back home. With tears of joy I’ll find my peace trusting that in your mercy you have sheltered me. (REFRAIN)
*COMPOSER’S NOTE: These are difficult times for all of us, individually and globally. The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted life as normal and called for acts of corporate and individual heroism in the face of present suffering and an uncertain future. People of faith may be struggling to articulate their belief in an all-good and all-powerful God in this new era. "Shelter Me" - is my attempt as a church composer to find God's presence even in these fraught times. Based on Psalm 23, my paraphrase adapts the psalmist's sentiments to respond to our present anxieties. (Jan Michael Joncas)
