President’s Message You may have noced that in the recent months our website has been having several significant issues. We are in the process of building a new one. We should have it published shortly. My goal with the website is to simplify and organize what we have. A while back I gave a call for geologic pictures for the new website, and I have no doubt that some of you are wondering where it is. Long story, short, I started building the website about a year ago. I had lile experi- ence at website building. I was extremely excited last month that I was nearly finished and ready to publish. Then I talked to some website gurus, and found out that the plaorm that I had used would not protect WGA and WGA’s customers for its bookstore. It just didn’t have the right security necessary for our needs. I wal- lowed for a few days, extremely annoyed, given that our needs were becoming more pressing, and then I got back to work. In the next several weeks you will see the new website launched. It won’t be a finished prod- uct, but a work in progress with the essenals. The main thing that will need to be enhanced is the aesthecs. If anyone has more geologic pictures that they would be willing to donate to go on the website, feel free to e- mail me at [email protected]. The WGA picnic has been set on August 10 th . It will be at Bear Trap Meadows this year. Mark Milliken has obtained permission to give us an opportunity to explore several of the mining pits near the archery range as a short field trip before the picnic. Stay tuned for more developments about the picnic. Melanie D. Peterson—President C NTACT
