The ProjectMacmahon was awarded a three year mining contract for the Greenfield Byerwen Coal Mine open-cut project, with operations commencing in August 2017.

The hard coking coal project is located near Glenden in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.

Macmahon undertakes all mining operations at the Byerwen Project including drilling, blast design, load and haul, haul road maintenance and mobile plant maintenance.

Mining activity is focused in the North Pit with work about to commence on opening the Southern Box Cut. Current mining capacity is around 4M bcm per month, delivering 6M tpa of ROM coal to the CHPP annually.
