Pollution, we hear it every other day at school, college and read about it in newspapers. Do you know what it is?Pollution arises when ever citizens/people dirty the natural surroundings. Pollution is a great disturbance in our Ecosystem. Pollution occurs in different forms; air, water, soil, radioactive, noise, heat/ thermal and light. Each pollution form harms the environment in different ways the Global Warming is a great problem worldwide and guess the source….Pollution. Let us discuss the different types of pollutions, their causes and effects on mankind and the environment as a whole.

Causes of pollution Since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, our earth has been affected by an concern which is perhaps more grave than those like overpopulation, natural disasters, and even terrorism. Environmental pollution it is. It has affected the environment in an adverse and almost irreversible manner. Environmental pollution is a general issue after World War II. Pollution is the effect of our social development through the means of science. Pollution is the creation of our scientific achievements being applied for the improvement of human services.

Even the litter you throw on the floor can harm the environment e.g: if you throw plastic while your at the beach and if it finds its way into the water then it will spread onwards and soon a sea creature ( animal ) will consume it. And if continued it will lead to animal extinction.

Notes: Pollution is one of the biggest killers, affecting more than 100 million worldwide.

Lists of causes of PollutionAir pollution is caused by both human and anthropogenic sources. The causes of litter pollution are passing motorists, pedestrians, retail outlets and gathering points.

Ocean pollution is caused by several industrial and domestic actions, which include oil spills, garbage dumping, etc.

Smoke from chimneys, factories, vehicles or burning of wood basically occurs due to coal burning .

Noise pollution is when strange and unpleasant sounds are heard by our ears and leads psychological problems like stress.

Mining and deforestation also exploits the soil.

Global effects from pollution.Pollution can cause dieses take away lives and harm the environment and even lower the population.

• Air Pollution: A state of the atmosphere, which leads to the exposure of human beings and/or ecosystems to such high levels or loads of particular compounds or mixtures there of, that destruction is caused. All compounds that are considered air pollutants have both natural as well as human-made origins. This can cause problems in the human respiratory system.

• Water Pollution: Right now we are heading in the direction of a water crisis. Changing climate patterns are threatening lakes and rivers. We rely on clean water to survive yet tap for drinking water are being overdrawn or contaminated with pollution. Acid rain, the scattering of water pollution to surrounding beaches and riverbanks.

• Land pollution: There can be disastrous consequences of land pollution in relation to humans, animals, water and soils. Land Pollution is the contamination of the land through the discarding of excess and garbage and the introduction of poisons into the surroundings.

Types of pollution

Water Pollution Air Pollution Land Pollution

Water pollution is the contamination of water bodiesE.g: lakes, rivers, oceans, aquifers and groundwater. This form of environmental degradation happens when pollutants are directly or indirectly discharged into water figures without sufficient handling.

Air pollution is a phenomenon by which particles gases contaminate the environment. Such contamination can result in health effects on the population, which might be either long-lasting , or acute (due to accidents). Other effects of pollution include harm to materials.

Land pollution is the result of garbage, industrial waste, etc. the source of land pollution are humans when they litter and  waste that is washed ashore from boats.
