The drama based on a true story was written in 1901 and was first played in the same year

in Słowacki Theater in Krakow

The story starts after the marriage ceremony in St. Mary’s Church in Krakow.

The company celebrates in the bridegroom’s home. They dance, discuss, laugh or make love.

In additional to ‘normal’ guests ‘ghosts’ of well known personas of the Polish society are present.

In 1972 it was adaptated by Andrzej Wajda

There played famous polish actors for example Daniel Olbrychski, Ewa Ziętek and Marek Perepeczko

It was filmed in a house Called „Rydlówka” in Krakow’s district Bronowice
