The setting of the book Indian Captive is started in Pennsylvania where her family lives on a farm. She goes to the Indians in southern Ohio and later go to the Seneca village.

The rising action of the book Indian Captive is when molly gets captured by the Indians.

Molly is deciding to stay with the Indians instead of going home with the chief (because her parents were killed so she would have to go with the chief)

Molly: The main character of the story. A twelve year old girl who has to adjust to living in Seneca town with the Indians.

Little Turtle/Turkey Feather: Little Turtle is one of Molly’s first friends in Seneca Town. When he catches his first turkey, his name gets changed to Turkey Feather

Shagbark: Is like the grandpa in the story. HeMakes many of the tools in the village.Earth Women is like the doctor of the village. Her special

dances can apperintly bring rain and other plant-relatied things.

Josiah: Josiah is a boy from virgina who also gets captured from the indians.

Blue Jay: Blue Jay is the baby in the indian village and gets watched from Molly.

The theme of independence plays a role in our book because Molly has to learn to work without her family with people who at first she is not very comfortable with.
