Alessandro Volta was an Italian physicist known for the invention of the battery in the 1800s. He also invented the electric cell and discovered the first practical method of generating electricity.

Believe it or not, Andre-Marie Ampere was a man! He was a French physicist and mathematician who is best known for finding a way to measure the flow of current, which was named after him. He figured out a way to measure the strength of a magnetic field in relation to an electric current, which is known as Ampere's theorem.
