The Motto We did not find their motto but did find their song. First Verse-“Arise, ye prisoners of starvation! Arise, ye wretched of the earth! For

justice thunders condemnation, A better world's in birth. No more, tradition's chains shall bind us, Arise ye slaves, no more in thrall. The earth shall rise on new foundations, We have been naught, we shall be all. This the final conflict, Let us stand in our place. The international working class Shall be the human race! 'Tis the final conflict, Let us stand in our place. The international working class Shall be the human race!”

Second Verse- “We want no condescending saviors To rule us from a judgment hall.

We workers ask not for their favors, We must consult for all. To make the thief disgorge his booty, To free the spirit from the cell, We must ourselves decide our duty, We must decide and do it well! This the final conflict, Let us stand in our place. The international working class Shall be the human race! This the final conflict, Let us stand in our place. The international working class Shall be the human race!”

Their perspective on the role of government in the Political World Issues and Solutions:

Peace and International Justice (U.S. foreign policy is a major cause of war)

The U.S. to renounce nuclear first strike, and take the initiative toward global disarmament by eliminating all of its nuclear, chemical and biological weapons.

Language Rights (Restore to the State Constitution co-equal status for Spanish as an official language of California)

Abolish all English-only laws and policies, including those of private employers.

Voting and Elections Election should be by direct vote of the people. Eliminate the Electoral College.

Resident non-citizens should have the right to vote, particularly in local and school elections.

The Peace and Freedom Party are liberal in the in the Political World, because they do not believe in a strong military. They believe that the people should have a direct voice in government therefore advocating a smaller government that protects the people.

Their perspective on the role of government in the

Economic World

Issues and Solutions: The peace and treaty party want to repeal prop 13 and use tax

property for profit, not personal use. They want to remove property taxes on modest owner-occupied homes and put the burden on the wealthy.

They also want to tax unearned income at a higher rate than earned income.

In this world, The Peace and Treaty Party is Liberal because as they want equality, they also want the wealthy to take a lot of burden off of the middle/lower class.

Their perspective on the role of government in the Social World

Issues and Solutions: The peace and freedom party want the government to

open borders. They do not like the fact that government rounds up immigrants and deport them and give them fewer opportunities.

They demand an end to the deportation of immigrants and they demand full political, social and economic rights for resident non-citizens. They also support health care.

The peace and freedom party is liberal in this world because they want equality for all. No matter who you are, you are as equal as the next person.

Equal treatment for all people in the military regardless of sexual orientation. The right to gay marriage and partners' benefits

Religion

Strict separation of religious and government institutions and activities.

The Peace and Freedom Party are liberal when it comes to the Cultural World because they tolerate diverse lifestyles
