Femur(thigh bone) and pelvis

Femoral Head- a ball shape at the top end of the femur that fits into the Acetabulum- a round socket side of the pelvis. It is also attached to the rest of the femur.

Ligaments are soft tissue structures that connect bones to bones. They help stabilize the hip joint.

Labrum-a ring of fibrous cartilage around the edge of the articular (joint) surface of a bone.

Glutes- These muscles extend the hip and form the buttocks.

Hip Flexors-These muscles flex the hip and are located on the front side of the hip.

All of the nerves that travel down the thigh pass by the hip.

Main Nerves: femoral nerve sciatic nerve obturator nerve

Motor- relay signals from the brain to the muscles to move the hip.

Sensory- signals that relay sensations such as touch, pain, and temperature.

Bursa- thin fluid-filled sac of tissue that reduces friction.

Located between muscles, tendons, and bones.
