A Hyperbole is an extreme exaggeration meant to prove a point an give the reader a funny visual in their head

Example: Near my house there are mosquitoes the size of helicopters

Point: The mosquitoes near my house are REALLY big

Yo Mamma jokes are examples of Hyperboles

Personification means to give human qualitys to non-living objects.

Example: the sower was angry at me and was spitting on me

Example: At 6:30 my alarm clock started screaming at me

A Metaphor is comparing something to something else WITHOUT using like or as.

Simile: My brother’s as slimy as a snail.

Metaphor: My brother’s a snail
