Health food is food considered to be beneficial to health in ways that go beyond a normal healthy diet required for human nutrition. Because there is no precise, authoritative definition from regulatory agencies such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, different dietary practices can be considered healthy depending on context.

Good and bad food

You are what you eat”, goes a well known saying. It’s not quite true but its message really means that if you eat healthy foods, you are most likely to be healthy. If you eat nothing but corn chips, you won’t get to look like a corn cob but you certainly won’t be fit and healthy. This is because your body needs a good mix of foods.

How much it do they cost

It’s a question hopeful pho restaurateurs and pho customers alike would often ask me. If you just want a “ballpark” number, then I can tell you right now and you can skip the rest of this post: It will cost in the neighborhood of $50K to more than $500K.Really, the question is simple, but the answer is not. At a minimum, the cost to open a pho restaurant depends on the following factors:

How to manage a restraint

Pizza dough is a combination of flour, water, yeast and oil. One pound of dough is generally enough for two 10-inch pizzas. The gluten content in the flour makes it rise, and standard all-purpose flour is more than up to the challenge -- although it requires kneading with the hands or a dough mixer to bind the proteins. Pizza aficionados tend to go for Italian 00 flour, which is readily available in most supermarkets and fine-milled for a light, crisp base. Because the aim of kneading the dough is to stimulate bubbles, use 00 if possible, as it yields a fluffier dough and requires less water. Mix the flour with salt and dry yeast and sift through a sieve to eliminate any clumps.

Interestingly, scones were not a common feature of early Afternoon Tea and were only introduced in the twentieth century.

Weigh your three eggs with their shells. Take that weight and measure the same amount each for the sugar, margarine and flour. Weigh the flour last. (For example, if the eggs weigh 200g, then the flour should weigh 200g, the sugar 200g and the same for the margarine.)

For the flour, remove 55g from the weight you measured to match the weight of the eggs. Add 55g of cocoa powder. Combine the flour and cocoa.

Preheat the oven to 170 C / Gas 3. Grease two 23cm sandwich tins and line with baking parchment. Put all of the margarine and sugar into a large mixing bowl. Cream together with an electric mixer until pale, creamy and

fluffy. Crack ONE egg into a small bowl (incase something is wrong with the egg) then add it to the margarine/sugar mixture. It

is important that you do not over whisk at this point, just use the mixer on its lowest setting until the egg has become a part of the mixture. Repeat this process with the second egg and, after that, the third egg.

Sieve a couple of tablespoons of flour-cocoa mixture at a time into the mixing bowl with the other ingredients. Keeping the electric mixer turned off, give the mixture a quick stir (this will help prevent any of the flour flying out when you turn the mixer on!). Turn the mixer on now and mix everything together very well. Try to get air into the mixture as well as this will make the sponge lighter.

Divide the mixture evenly between the two tins. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. To make sure it has finished baking, use your fingers to very lightly press on the top of the sponge. It should feel spongey and spring back up.

Let the sponge cool on a cooling rack. (Don't forget to remove the parchment!) When cool, add jam, whipped cream, icing, butter icing or anything you want to fill and decorate your cake.

Cook's note This same basic recipe can be used to make butterfly cakes, fairy cakes, birthday cakes and any other kind of sponge

What not to do in a kitchen 1. Never cook with your eyes closed unless you have had a lot of practice. No, I take that back. Never do it. I

did it this morning very early and I wasn't awake yet. You miss all of the emotion of seeing what you make in the unfolding process, as well as your failures crumble before your very eyes. Cooking is an emotional experience. Otherwise, why bother - there are a lot of cans, jars, paper bags around just waiting to be opened.

2. Cooking should never be bounded by four walls - it is the open vista as far as you can see in front of you as you let your mind wander. Never always know what you are going to cook. Cuts off all possibility of something new and interesting emerging.

3. When you are in a hurry, always stop and clean up what just spilled on the floor. Otherwise, you will have to clean the kitchen, the hallway, the bedroom, the study...

4. Never talk on the phone as you cook. You need all of your attention on what you are doing. Remember you are playing with fire, hot stuff, knives, steam, stuff that rolls, slides, breaks, cracks, squashes, falls - you get the picture.

5. Never leave everything in the sink to be washed before you start cooking the next meal. Kills all of the creative juices.

6. Always be aware that the kitchen is not only your favorite place. There are other creatures in the world who think that this is their heaven on earth. You may not want them there but be considerate. They are only trying to live and have a full life like you. Instead of trying to get rid of them, keep it clean and they will decide on their own to go to the "restaurant" next door. At least give them an option.

7. If you don't throw out the garbage every time you go into the kitchen, put all your eatable garbage in the refrigerator. You heard me. Covered of course. I use empty ice cream cartons. And be sure to do a clean sweep of all those every so often. It really does cut down on the under population when they say to themselves - Oh no, not that into the frig also!

8. Never think that you can pick up everything with one hand, touch everything without protection, taste anything because it is just a little of the hot stuff, and just throw spices, and the contents of cans or bottles into the mix straight from the container (most containers are not measuring instruments - they are storage units).

9. Never tell everyone what you are going to cook unless you really know what you are doing (but even then there are mistakes). Surprise them and maybe even yourself. Also you won't have to make excuses for what did not turn out the way it should have
