We are happy to release the yearly newsletter in

the year 2020 of activities of Regional Centre Jaipur from

Jan to December with support and co-operation of all.

Regional Centre Jaipur is on its way to reach all segments

of the society with quality education for all and committed

to effective Learner Support Services in the region. We

have initiated many new initiatives for strengthening

learner student support services efcient utilization of

technology mediated interventions. We have covered all

20 districts in the region with a network of study centres

for reaching the unreached.

The year 2020 was full of unexpected challenges

due to pandemic/lockdown situation, IGNOU Regional

Centre Jaipur along with its study centers overcame it with

extensive use of ICT web based enabled services such as

Online Induction Meetings, Conduct of Online

Counselling sessions, Extensive use of SMS Services,

Emails, Online submission of Assignments, Projects,

Internship etc. to enable all the enrolled learners to

complete their programmes in stipulated time. IGNOU

also organized June Term End Examination in September

2020 to facilitate the nal year students. Promotional

activities for admissions to July 2020 sessions were also

conducted through Online mode by organizing webinars

in association with Study Centres under RC Jaipur. The

learners of July 2019 and January 2020 session (semester

based programmes) are being promoted as per UGC

guidelines received from HQs.

Sports and Cultural Meet

Sports and Cultural Meet was held at the ofce of the RC Jaipur on 24.01.2020. Dr. Mamta Bhatia, Regional Director addressed all staff members of RC Jaipur and inaugurated the sports and cultural meet 2020. All Academic and Non-Academic Staff members participated in the different outdoor and indoor games. Outdoor games like 100m race, lemon race, football, cricket, badminton were organised in a nearby park of the Regional Centre, Jaipur. Indoor games like chess, carom, musical chair were organised in the conference room of RC Jaipur.

thA cleanliness drive was organized at the ofce of the RC Jaipur on 21.01.2020 under Swachhta Pakhwada from 16 stJanuary to 31 January 2020 in which all staff members, academics and Regional Director participated for cleaning the RC

premises and nearby area. All staff members and Regional Director took a Swachhta pledge to keep RC ofce and surrounding area clean and devote 100 hours for swachhta. The Regional Director xed a responsibility of all the staff members to clean their rooms, sections and RC premises.

rd33 Convocation of the University

rd thThe 33 Convocation of Regional Centre, Jaipur was held on 17 February, 2020 at B. S. Mehta Auditorium, HCM, RIPA, OTS, JLN Marg, Jaipur which was conducted jointly for RC Jodhpur as well. The Guest of Honour was Sh. Bhanwar Singh Bhati, Hon'ble Minister of Higher Education, Govt. of Rajasthan. The degrees were presented to 1776 learners of Regional Centre Jaipur and 206 learners of Regional Centre Jodhpur.

Out of the total 1982 learners; 110 learners of PG Diploma and Diploma Programmes, 235 Learners for B.Ed. and B.SC.(N),

232 for Bachelor's Degree Programme and 195 for Master's Degree Programme were present in person to take their

degrees. Two Learners were awarded Gold Medals Sh. Ram Prakash Prajapat (PGDOM) from RC Jaipur and Ms. Ashita

Shivnani (MAH) from RC Jodhpur who received their Gold Medals at IGNOU HQs.

Two Days National Webinar on Educational Opportunities

for Students through ODL

T w o D a y s N a t i o n a l W e b i n a r o n “Educational Opportunities for Students through ODL” was conducted on 19.08.2020 and 20.08.2020 through Online Google meet platform. Technical sessions were addressed by Faculty Members & subject experts from Schools for the learners.

A Webinar was organized on Distance Learning and IGNOU programmes for Teacher Educators in association with L.B.S. T.T. College Kota on 24.07.2020. 56 Learners and College Staff Members participated in this webinar.

Celebration of Republic Day

st71 Republic Day was celebrated on 26th January, 2020 at the ofce of the Regional Centre Jaipur. All Academic and Non- Academic Staff members along with their family members were present to attend the Flag Hoisting ceremony at 9.00 A.M. at the ofce of the Regional Centre, Jaipur and greeted each other.On this occasion cultural events like poem competition, singing competition, musical chair, dance competition, lemon race etc. were organized for family members of staff of RC Jaipur. We all pledged to have a better working environment and be vigilant for our responsibilities towards the nation, society and work place.

th th74 Independence Day was celebrated on 15 August, 2020 at the ofce of the Regional Centre Jaipur. All Ofcials and Staff members of the Regional Centre along with Dr. K.K. Gautam, Ex. Senior Regional Director (Rtd.), Jaipur were present to attend the Flag Hoisting at the ofce of the Regional Centre, Jaipur. The preventive measures/guidelines related to COVID-19 were followed. To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, the Chief Guest and the Regional Director unfurled the National ag and all in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom.

Staff Development Programme

A Staff Development programme (SDP) was organized at the ofce of the RC Jaipur on 28.02.2020. Dr. Mamta Bhatia, Regional Director welcomed all staff members and resource person on the occasion. Dr. Abhishek Arora, Motivational Speaker & Resource Person addressed all Staff Members and give a brief presentation on the topic "Positive Communication". All Academic and Non-Academic staff members were present in the programme.

Teachers Day was celebrated at the ofce of RC Jaipur on 05.09.2020 through Online Google meet. Prof. Gopinath Sharma, Former Professor and Dean, Faculty of Education, Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Rajasthan Sanskrit University was honorary Guest on this occasion. Prof. Gopinath Sharma delivered a lecture on the topic “Teacher in present scenario” and highlighted some points of New Education P o l i c y a n d n e e d b a s e d education. Dr. Mamta Bhatia, Regional Director welcomed the invitees & addressed all the s t a f f m e m b e r s w i t h h e r i n s p i r i n g w o r d s a n d highlighted the importance of the teachers vital role in making the i r pupi l s accountab le citizens of tomorrow and a good human being.

Celebration of Women's Day

International Women's Day was celebrated at the ofce of the RC Jaipur on 05.03.2020. Prof. Lad Kumari Jain, Ex. Chairperson, Rajasthan State Commission for Women, Govt. of Rajasthan was invited to deliver a lecture on "Women Empowerment. Dr. Mamta Bhatia, Regional Director addressed all Academic and Non-Academic staff members of RC Jaipur. Dr. Mamta Bhatia focused on the points that the position and status of women all over the world has risen incredibly in the 20th century.

A car rally was organised on the ocassion of International Womens Day by AKS AWE. club, Dr. Mamta Bhatia, RD & Dr. Indu Ravi, ARD participated in the function and addressed the participants about IGNOU Programmes. All women participants were motivated to continue their studies through IGNOU.

An IGNOU awareness program was organised in Kathputali Nagar Kacchi Basti, Jaipur for motivating the women & girls to pursue education. On this occasion notebooks, pen and biscuits were distributed to the childrens. Dr. Mamta Bhatia, Mr. Sher Singh, Dr. Indu Ravi & Mr. Kamlesh Meena were present on the occasion.


Covid -19 Awareness Camp

An awareness camp for prevention of COVID-19 was organized at RC Jaipur in collaboration with Root Cure Homeopathy on 04.11.2020 at 2.30 PM. Dr. Mamta Bhatia, Regional Director welcomed Dr. Anamika Jalndra, BHMS, DOM (Mumbai) and her team members. Dr. Anamika Jalndra gave a brief introduction about the recent advancement and developments in the eld of Homeopathy and how homeopathy plays an important role both in prevention and cure of Covid -19.

Matribhasha Diwas (Mother Language Day) was celebrated at the Ofce of the RC Jaipur on 21.02.2020 which was followed by live programme webcast from IGNOU HQs. Dr. Mamta Bhatia, Regional Director addressed all staff members of RC Jaipur and learners and motivate all to participate in all activities. Various competitions like Essay Competition, Cultural Activities and drawing competition was organized for Staff Members of RC Jaipur and learners.

International Yoga Day

th thFIRST PHASE of 06 International Yoga Day was cerebrated on 19 June, 2019. Dr. Rashmi Kothari, Naturopath and Ayurveda, Acupressure, Dietician and Reiki Master addressed all Coordinators, staff of RC Jaipur and their family members through Online Google meet and emphasised on “Stress Free Life with Yoga and Meditation”. She also talked on various aspects of Yogic way of living, Ashtang Yog & its implications in human life.

thSECOND PHASE of 06 International Yoga Day was celebrated at RC Jaipur with a theme “Importance of Yoga for Healthy Body and Mind”. A 03 Day workshop was organized by RC Jaipur, Ms. Esha Tanwani, Yoga and Zumba Instructor was invited online to give practical demonstration of Yog Asanas & Pranayam for Healthy human life. Live demonstrations of various Asanas were given by Ms. Esha through Online Google meet with their advantages, relevance and implications in day to day life.

Ms. Esha Tanwani demonstrated how to practice different Yoga Aasans and told about their benet for our body. Session was interactive and participatory. All activities of Ms. Esha were highly appreciated by the staff members and Coordinators of RC Jaipur.
