    SERVO CYLINDER SEALING RING

    On a l l Borg Warner automatic transmission units now beingf i t ted to current production models, a copper sealing ring (Part No.9204) i s f i t ted to the servo cylinder bolts . The sealing ring is toprevent o il seepage along the threads of the bolts and is fi t ted betweenthe spring washer and the servo cylinder. The side of the washer withthe smaller hole is f i t ted against the spring washer.

    SELECTING P (PARK) WHEN REVERSINGWARNING

    I t i s pointed out that , due to the reverse rotation of therear pump, the parking pawl hydraulic interlock does not operatein R (Reverse).

    I t is , therefore, ESSENTIAL that the P (Park) position i snot selected whilst the car is mov i ng in Reverse other,.;ise theparking pawl may be broken off . Always bring the car to a stop andapply the h a n d ~ r a k e firmly before selecting P.Will Distributors and Dealers please bring th i s matter to thenotice of owners who have automatic tran smission models.

    Recently numerous cases of incorrect diagnosis on the BorgWarner model D.G. transmission have been notic ed, often res ulting ihigh repair costs and considerable loss of customer goodwill.
