I am glad to inform you that the AEPC in its ongoing efforts to promote exports of ready to wear apparel from India is once again making its presence felt in this Spanish market through the organization of Buyer Seller Meet (BSM) in Barcelona and Madrid. The objective of this event is to grow India’s exports into the Spanish market.
We have here 23 leading exporters who will be displaying their latest apparel collection for the coming season. This BSM would definitely provide an opportunity to you to view a wide range of garments and ideas specially created by the Indian garment manufacturers and exporters. These are all for the coming season and our designers have kept in mind the Spanish and European market trends.

About Apparel Export Promotion Council
Apparel Export Promotion Council, a non-profit industry led & managed organization, incorporated in 1978, is the nodal agency for the promotion of readymade garments from India. Council is a crucial link between the Indian garment exporters & global markets. Its tremendous success can be measured from the fact that Council is having more than 7000 apparel exporters as its members who contribute 3% of the world trade in clothing and more than 8% of India’s total exports.
AEPC is sponsored by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India and is registered under Section 25 of the Indian Companies Act 1956. Its board of directors consists of 28 elected members, 3 co-opted members and 4 Government Nominees. As per the provision of Memorandum & Article of Association of the Council, the board is headed by Chairman, who is essentially an apparel exporter. The Secretary General performs the functions of the Chief Executive Officer is a senior IAS Officer and is nominated by Government of India.
AEPC is the only institution at National level, recognized under the Foreign Trade Policy to work closely with the Government of India on policy issues in Apparel Sector.

Apparel Value Chain employs 6 million workers
Apparel sector is the 2nd largest employment provider after agriculture
The Council has nationwide presence and has over 7000 members.
The exports of garments during the year 2008-09 were around US$ 10.93 billion
AEPC has been continuously involved in the task of promoting readymade garment exports by:
• Organizing Buyer Seller Meets to explore & develop new markets and identifying item of export potential
• Leading trade delegations to potential markets globally
• Participating in the specialized international fairs and organizing India International Garment Fair, twice in a year.
• Organizing seminars and workshop on fashion, managerial and technical aspects of the industry

About ATDC
To cater manpower requirement of apparel industry, AEPC has established Apparel Training and Design Centre in 1991 at New Delhi with the mission to upgrade the technical skills of the human resource employed in Garment Industry. Keeping in view the growing demands of the apparel industry, 58 Apparel Training and Design Centres have been set up at different parts of the country where the garment industry is concentrate. So far, ATDC has trained 50200 students.
About Institute of Apparel Management
India’s first Institute of Apparel Management (IAM), promoted by the AEPC Society for Human Resource Development, under the aegis of Apparel Export Promotion Council, is an industry driven institution and is offering professional programme with promising carriers in apparel industry.
