SC Small Business FactsIn SC, three of every five businesses are operated by sole-proprietors, working full-time without any paid employees.

Virtually all of the remaining businesses are small. Among these "employer firms" (businesses providing full-time jobs to people other than the owners):

Nineteen out of 20 (95 percent) have fewer than 100 employees.

Four of every five (76 percent) have fewer than 10 employees.

More than half (58 percent) have fewer than five employees.

You better learn to work closely with people!

Even if you work alone.
