Italy comes beginning of the country that supports Turkey’s EU accession countries, also Turkey's second trading partner and the trade volume between the two countries is increasing at over 20 percent per year. Italy, as well as the fifth largest foreign investor in Turkey's position.

Turkish-Italian relations registering a steady increase in recent years. According to the explanations in the Italian Chamber of Commerce, Turkey is more important than China, Russia or Brazil as an investment and trade partner for Italy. Major reasons for this, as in neighboring Italy and Turkey have close access to markets, to create an important center point.

Increasing Trade Figures… There is a significant increase year to year in actual

trade figures between Turkey and Italy.

The number of Italian-owned firms in Turkey reached 600.

In terms of sectoral distribution of Italian firms operating in Turkey, where services and manufacturing industries at the forefront.Italian companies focus on manufacturing industry; mainly food, clothing, chemical products, electrical and electronics, machinery manufacturing and focus on the services sector; trade, tourism, communications, banking and finance sub-sectors of investment.

Luxury Market is Gaining Importance… Today, industrial products account for 75

percent of Italy's exports to Turkey.

Recently; Italy aims to expand its market position in Turkish on the Italian way of life that make up fashion, cosmetics, shoes, jewelry and furniture industries.

For luxury products; textiles, jewelry, shoes, home and lighting equipment, food products, wine, motorcycle and car.

Italy as an Important Gate that Seeking up the EU for Turkish Companies…

Italy is a country that offers significant opportunities for bilateral cooperation.In particular, for Turkish companies seeking to open up to Europe.

Resumed relations with Italy in the form of agency and distributorship.

Today in Italy; there are lots of Turkey’s representative offices in major brands such as Sabancı Dupont, İçdaş, Sarkuysan, Brilliant, Vestel and Tekfen.
