I managed a team of business analysts, system analysts, software designers, quality assurance, and technical writers responsible for preparing the required software blueprints. In addition to that, I had the following responsibilities: Senior Systems Analyst: use the business analyst input to write and review SRS documents. Software Development Process and CASE tools Specialist: I implemented and maintained IBM Rational ClearQuest, IBM

Rational ClearCase, and Sybase PowerDesigner. I defined and implemented the quality, change and release management processes.

Project Manager: I managed an allocated development, QA, networking and operations team to deliver mission critical turnkey project.

Database Designer: model logical database design and work closely with the DBAs. IBM Contact Officer: I initiated a successful relation with IBM Dubai in the area of their SOA products. Omnix already

delivered couple of Message Broker projects and is offering many as a result of this relation. Software Architect: depict the layers, components, interfaces and packages of the current Java enterprise application under

development. I also coached and reviewed the software designers output.

Making sure the process/tools experience I gained is fully utilized in Sedco’s biggest project ever, I became one of two development managers of Fileworx, an Enterprise Content Management solution which is the 3rd generation of Sedco solutions for content-based customers. Co-managed a large team to deliver releases of Fileworx. Maintained the vision, architecture, development plan,

performance appraisal and incentive sheets. Managed the development of Fileworx runtime, a smart client responsible for the presentation, reporting, personalization,

usability and content editing; consuming a web service responsible of authentication/authorization, caching, security, auditing, archiving, and database access.

Development Manager, Methodology and Internal Tools – Sep 00 to Oct 03 After 9 months in Sedco, I was promoted to a Development Manager with a team of developers responsible for Sedco’s internal methodology and tools, beside the special solutions. Achieved CMM 2 compliance for Sedco’s development department by the end of August 2002 marking the end of a 2-year

project. The processes had to be defined, documented, published, trained on, implemented and monitored continuously. The supporting tools were mainly IBM Rational CASE tools, USC.COCOMOII tool for estimation, MS Project in addition to an internally developed tool to report SLOCs in the various programming languages. All these tools had to be customized to Sedco environment, deployed, trained on and supported daily.

Managed a custom version of the Rational Unified Process covering Quality Assurance, Configuration Management,

Requirements Management, Project Planning and Project Tracking and Oversight. Used IBM Rational Process Workbench for this purpose.

Synthesized Sedco Estimation Procedure to complement the Project Planning process. The procedure uses Function Point Analysis to estimate the size and COCOMO II model to estimate the effort and schedule. Received very positive feedback on this procedure from a NOKIA professor specialized in software estimation.

Software Engineer, Content Management Solutions Group – Jan 00 to Sep 00 Enhanced the Communication Server through introducing new technologies; including WAP, SMS, XML, Windows Sockets

and event-driven Serial Interface. Developed reusable components for Sockets and Serial Communications. Deployed, for the first time in Sedco, Oracle ConText Server and developed a PL/SQL Arabic FTR layer on top of it. Gave internal presentations and courses like “Introduction to WAP” and “MFC Fundamentals”.
