    Although college degrees in a finance, management, business are strongly

    desired they are not necessary for a successful career in the finance field. There are some positions that require further education out of the

    colligate setting:

    Loan Officers, Mortgage Officers: Further loan training usuallyoffered within the facility

    Financial Planners: Must earn their Financial Planning Certification tobecome a CFP: Certified Financial Planner

    Money Management: Investors are required deep understanding ofthe market along with economic behavior.

    Furthering any education past what is required will further your career

    within your chosen field. Most employers will offer funding for furthering your education with

    an agreement made to maintain employment for a set length of time.

    Another often overlooked option to further real life education isaccepting an internship within your desired field.

    Types of Skills Needed for Finance

    You will need a broad understanding of business because you will

    be interacting with businesses.People skills for interaction with customers so you can be able to

    communicate to get them loans and investments that they want.

    An background in accounting. Two common jobs are a credit analyst

    or a lending officer.

    Writing skills are very important to make reports and for good

    communication. You can not be afraid to sell or look for potential

    customers.A good work ethic for the long work hours sometimes.

    Creativity is needed in order to come up with new ideas that can

    make better improvements in areas that can save money.

    A Bachelors degree is more or less a given. Most

    companies prefer a business degree, or a

    communications degree.

    Possibly an internship most companies want someone

    that has experience.
