Week 1 Orientation Week The intern will shadow the EHS manager during his day to day activities. This week is dedicated to provide the intern with an orientation to the facilities, employees, and day to day activities of the organizations. Week 2-4 Job Safety Analysis (JSA) completion the intern will be provided with assigned Job Descriptions as well as job tasks. The intern will complete a comprehensive JSA for the assigned job descriptions. The JSA will include identifications of the entire work task for the job, analysis of the hazards that exist during the task, and corrective measures that already exist or need to be put in place to limit the hazard. This will require the intern to work directly with the employee performing the task as. Upon completion, the JSAs will be review by the EHS Manager. Weeks 5-7 Lock Out/Tag out LO/TO The intern will be provided with several pieces of production line/refrigeration/engine room equipment and will prepare LO/TO procedures for all such equipment. These procedures will be review by the EHS Manager for Completeness. During this time the intern will also perform the annual LOTO review to all authorized employees in both the Dean Dairy and Meadow Brook Facilities. Weeks 8-9 Hazard Communication/GHS the intern will complete a review of a Distribution Shop Hazard Communication program a as well as perform a review of the MSDS (SDS) inventory for the shop. The intern will assist the EHS manager during throughout the internship with completion of the New Globally Harmonized Standard (GHS) training requirements for hazard communication. Weeks 10-11 Human Element/Emergency Action Plan During these weeks the interns focus will be development of the missing pieces of out emergency action plan to assist compliance with the new requirements of Factory Mutual as well as reviewing the current EAP for missing elements and completeness. Week 12 DOT/Safety Blitz During Week 12 the intern will organize and participate in Dot/Safety Blitzes at several locations/possible branches during this time.
