Bures C.E. Primary School Newsletter Contact us: 01787 227446 [email protected]ffolk.sch.uk Date: 20th July 2018 BIG Queson of the Week “Should we be worried about the rise of robots?” Explore, Believe, Shine A Fabulous Year I would like to take the opportunity in the final newsletter of the school year to express my grateful thanks to the whole of the school community for being totally fantastic in every way! I have thoroughly enjoyed my first year at the helm and have quickly come to realise how lucky I am to be able to lead such a fabulous staff team who are completely dedicated to doing the very best for every one of the children at Bures. I have also benefitted from the balance of support and challenge which the Governors have provided to ensure we stay on the right track—that they do this in a volunteer role never ceases to amaze me. The welcome I received from you as parents (and grandparents and other carers) when I first arrived, helped me to settle quickly and the fact that lots of you still regularly check that I am continuing to enjoy my role and take the time to offer your help and feedback is much appreciated. Our links with people in the local community are also growing and our link to both St. Mary’s and the Baptist Church is certainly highly valued. However, it is the children who truly make this school the place I love to be on a daily basis and, though I am looking forward to my summer holiday, I will be just as eager to return in September to begin another momentous year. Thank you to all—I wish you all a relaxing and exciting summer and look forward to seeing you in the new academic year. again refreshed and energised ready for new challenges! So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehn, Goodbye! It is with great sadness that we wish our Year 6 Leavers a fond farewell. They have been a fabulous bunch and we know that they will go on to do great things in lots of different ways. They will all be greatly missed. Year 6 parents are invited to see them off in style at our Leavers’ Assembly on Monday 23rd July at 2.15 pm. Sadly, we are also saying goodbye to Mrs Whymark, Mr Griffiths and Mr Morris. Mrs Whymark will continue to do all things musical—just not with us! Mr Griffiths is hoping to complete his teacher training over the next year and Mr Morris heads off to China for an exciting teaching adventure. We wish them all the very best of luck. They too will be greatly missed!
