PYP Playground (Courtyard) Closure!!The IB Diploma exams run for three weeks between May 5-May 23. This year, due to limited space because of our expansion projects, the IB Exams are held in the MYP LGR. Experience during the mock exams showed us this area can be particularly noisy after school. For these reasons the PYP playground (PYP Courtyard) will be closed after school during these dates between 3:00 pm (2:30 on Tuesdays) and 5:00 pm. Please be aware children can still use the big climbing frame area.!Many thanks for your understanding.
Notice about Eurest Payments etcEUREST

Last week from the 24th to 26th of April the NIS Girls ACAMIS team played a phenomenal tournament, on our home pitch. The tournament was kicked off with a fantastic game on Thursday evening, with a final score of 5:0, in which Hannah Newell scored 4 wonderful goals. This game set the tone for the tournament, in which we were undefeated throughout the group phase, making it to the semi finals in first place. Showing our strength once again we took control of the game after a penalty scored by Tyra finally winning the game 6:1. The team moved to the final with a positive attitude and we really played our hearts out leaving everything on the pitch. Taking first place in a close 2:1 game.
In the tournament we remained undefeated throughout all 7 games, playing 6 wins and 1 draw. All together we scored 19 goals while only having 3 scored against us. Some highlights of the tournament were Elena, Michelle and Sophie’s strong and impenetrable defense, Tyra’s grit and determination, Solange and Gloria’s determination to never stay on the floor after being knocked down, Kyana’s energy and determination, Freja’s ability to control her anger, after being hit in the face numerous times by the ball, and channel it into her game, Hannah N’s speed, marking and beautiful goals, Paola’s support, communication and saves, Hannah Gusten’s headers (two of which went in the net) and Jayla’s corners (one curved beautifully in without touching another player).
Overall the tournament was a great success, being the first time in many years the girls brought home first place trophy, and being at home in front of a wonderful and supportive crowd made the experience even more special and emotional for us. To top it all off we also received the sportsmanship award.Thank you to our coaches, manager and everyone who supported us. GO LIONS!

Charity Tournament at SSISOn Saturday April 25th, NIS badminton traveled to Suzhou for a tournament hosted by Suzhou Singapore International School. The tournament was unusual because students organized the tournament and used the tournament fee to raise funds for an orphanage in South Africa that the school supports.
The tournament included 8 teams and the NIS teams were unique in that they included four grade eleven students, ten grade nine students and two grade eight students.
The coaches felt like this was a good chance to let some younger players participate in a competition as a reward for their hard work in practice.

One of the NIS teams happened to win the tournament and Hyunuk ( boys singles), Marla and Isinsu ( girls doubles) and Derron and Nahyun ( mixed doubles) all went undefeated on the day. Raphael and Dina also performed very well as a mixed doubles team.
Despite the success of the NIS players, the real stars of the tournament were the SSIS students who organized and ran the tournament.
