“I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. Every day I will
praise you and extol your name for ever and ever.” (Psalms 145:1,2). Let’s Praise the name
of our God Almighty for blessing our life with His abundant presence and keeping us
safe in the midst of the pandemic throughout the last month of August 2021. Thank God
for taking off the difficult situations from our surroundings. The number of people
attending worship in the church nowadays have increased and the count of the sick
people due to covid have fallen. As flights have restarted from India, it feels much better to see the parish
member back here. The children have started attending school after summer vacation. Let’s offer thanks
and pray to God for removing all the difficulties from this world and slowly bring back everything as earlier.
In the month of September our church will be celebrating the 44th Church Anniversary. It is a time of thanks-
giving and praising God for giving us a beautiful place to worship in the land of Sharjah. It is also the time to
remember the efforts took by the early members who took much effort for the formation and gave leader-
ship in the later years. Thanks to be the Almighty God for their spiritual visions, leadership and their life. As
the parish enters into another year, our presence must provide spiritual blessing to our surroundings and
bring relief to those who are going through hardships.
The main theme of first Sunday, (05-09-2021) is Education Sunday: “Christ the Great Teacher”. The Gospel
portion is St. John 13:12-17. Here in this passage, the disciples and others refer Jesus as Rabbi – it means
“teacher” which is only used for a religious leader. Jesus reveals before His disciples few disciplines of a
teacher. Teacher is a person who imparts not only the knowledge from his intelligence but also stand as a
model through his activities of life. A disciple is a person one who must follow the teachings and practices
of his master and also understand what the master expects from his life.
In the second Sunday, the church is observing as the “Sevika Sangham Day: Women- Participant in the
Divine Salvific plan of God”. The gospel portion is St. Mark 14:3-9. In the bible, we can see many women
followed Jesus Christ in His mission and imparted the divine light they had received from the Son of God to
their fellow beings. They saw Christ exalted in life and participated in the plan of salvation. The members of
the Mar Thoma Sevika Sangham has taken an important role to channelize the Christian faith to the next generation.
The theme of the third Sunday (19-09-2021) is “Senior Citizen Day: Gray Hair- Crown of Glory”. The gospel
portion is St. Luke 2:25-38. The bible portion explains the life of two persons Anna the prophetess and
Simeon, a just and devout man of Jerusalem. Both of them kept a close relationship with the temple and the
creator God. Their old age was blessed as they followed the good disciplines and they received precious
blessings from the Almighty God. The blessed steps that are available and maintained in life illuminates our life.
The main theme of fourth Sunday, (26-09-2021) is “Holy Qurbana: Sacrament of Thanksgiving”. The Gospel
portion for this Sunday is St. Luke 22:14-20. Holy Communion is one of the Dominical Sacrament ordered and
established by Jesus at His Last Supper. It was the prelude to Christ’s sacrifice on Calvary to free the world
from the bondage of Sin. The Holy Eucharist is a sure sign that His physical and spiritual presence is with His
creation, even though His physical presence is about to be taken away. While partaking in the Holy
communion, we must repent, confess sin with true heart, and live with the Lord Jesus Christ giving thanks to the Almighty God.
May God Almighty help us all to lead a blessed life in the month of September.
May God bless you all.
