ST. MAX PARISH SCHOOL NEWS
8th Grade Team Building
St. Max Parish School’s eighth grade class went on their traditional class trip to Paradise Farm Camps in Downingtown. The students participated in a special team building program. During the course of the day, students were asked to work together in large and small groups “to overcome challenges that can only be solved through cooperation and communication.” In addition to being fun, the group problem solving techniques are very beneficial.
Winter Garden The 7th grade class, under the direction of science teacher Mrs. Mary Riccardo, has been busy in the school garden. The 7th grade students are the stewards of the garden, learning how to prepare, plant and take care of the plants. Students planted the winter crop consisting of garlic, carrots, beets, radishes, spinach and lettuce. The harvested vegetables from this garden go to the St. Agnes Day Room. 2ND ANNUAL FRIENDS OF THE NEWMAN CENTER AT WEST CHESTER UNIVERSITY DINNER
NEWMAN!! When Seinfeld said it, he meant the menacing postal worker who lived down the hall. When WE say it, we mean the Catholic presence on the campus of West Chester University of Pennsylvania, at South New Street and Trinity Drive—Mass, food, fellowship and fond memories for many of our alumni.
The Newman Center at WCU is a thriving active center of prayer, learning and community outreach— and has been for over 40 years. We’d like to continue all the good work that happens here. To help in that effort, we are hosing our 2nd Annual Friends of the Newman Center Dinner and Silent Auction on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 6:00 PM. WCU alumni and friends are cordially invited to join us. The cost is $35 per person.
Tickets may be purchased at the site: https://sites.google.com/site/ncfallevent/ or by contacting the Newman Center directly at 610-436-0891.

REFLECTION
“Now, with gratitude for all we have received, and with confident assurance in all our needs, let us turn to Mary, our Blessed Mother. With a mother’s love, may she intercede for the growth of the Church in America in prophetic witness to the power of her Son’s Cross to bring joy, hope, and strength into our world. I pray for each of you, and I ask you, please, to pray for me.” - Pope Francis, World Meeting of Families 2015
