November 2, 2014 - All Souls’ Day Remembering and Celebrating Our Own

Wis 3:19 The souls of the just are in the hand of

God. Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd. Rom 5:5-11 or Rom 6:3-9 As Christ died and

rose, so shall we. John 6:37-40 God’s will is eternal life.

Gregory, age 5, was asked by his teacher to explain angels. He thought for a moment and then said, “I only know the

names of two angels, Hark

and Harold.”

On this All Souls Day, we know the names of many peo-

ple in that “great

cloud of witnesses” who now look down on us from heaven. How encouraging it is to realize that at the end of life, we will be welcomed into the loving arms of our Father God. Our friends have gone before us to show us that it can be done. And if we listen carefully, we may even be able to hear them sing-

ing God’s praises in the celestial choir.

-- Dc. Dick Folger
