Approved Inspectors
Approved Inspectors are private sector companies or individuals authorised by the law under the Building Act 1984 to provide a Building Control service. The Construction Industry Council (CIC) currently maintains the register of Approved Inspectors.
Where it is proposed to use an Approved Inspector, the inspector must be competent for that type of work and have suitable insurance cover in place. Also, the Approved Inspector must be independent of the designer, builder or owner, with no professional interest in the work.

Neil has led and delivered Building Control, construction management and buildingsurveying services on a wide range of buildings and refurbishment works.
His experience includes low and high rise residential, office, retail, leisure andindustrial buildings, with a broad range of construction types. Positive by nature, Neil strives to ensure our people are developed to the best they can be.
A member of the Government’s Building Regulation Advisory Committee. Neil is well placed to provide authoritative and sound advice on achieving compliance now and in the future.

Paul is passionate about Building Control with over twenty years experience giving him a high level understanding and insight into the fundamental objectives of the regulations. His broad experience includes several major office developments, educational buildings, hotels and healthcare premises.
This wealth of knowledge and range of experience enables him to advise on prescriptive and innovative interpretive solutions of the regulations where necessary.

Primarily responsible for marketing and project delivery, including the management and technical performance of the Building Control team at MLM’s Thames Valley office. An ability to offer expert compliance advice and assist the team in finding bespoke solutions to technical challenges encountered on major projects.
