the Board is stepping up its game by investing double time to make sure that our Chamber continues to deliver maximum value to the Chamber membership and the New Albany community. Most importantly, my deepest gratitude goes to Sue McCaffrey, Chamber Office Manager. Sue has stepped up in a big way to help us stay on track. Her skills and talents are exceptional and her enthusiasm for our Chamber is remarkable.
This past January, the Board reorganized the Chamber’s key focus areas into four major divisions – Membership, Communications, Events and Economic Development. All four divisions are moving forward with plans to take our Chamber to a much higher level of performance and engagement for the benefit of our business community. The most exciting part of my job is the collaboration that we create with businesses, our city government and other entities within the community. Without exception, everyone wants to join our quest to make New Albany a better place for business.
As we learned last year with the proposed business tax increases under House Bill 59, we cannot bury our heads in the sand. We have to stay alert to changes around us. We are creating an exceptional business community where dreams can become realities through teamwork among the New Albany Company, the City of New Albany and our businesses. Together, there is nothing that we cannot achieve.
