Heat, Ventilation & Air Control

• Task

A residence requires a central control system as well as remote control for ventilation and air controlling. Special focus is on maintaining the values of air quality.

• Function

•Visualization is used for central operation and provides user with the operating status and messages. •Settings for lighting, air conditioning and ventilation can be set automatically. •When the lock system registers contact from the locking bolts, the operating status, such as ‘standby’ or ‘comfort temperature’ for the respective building area will be set automatically. •Monitoring of the air quality in the archives, Data for CO2, humidity and temperature are recorded.

• Advantages

•Easy installation •Flexibility in terms of change in user programs

Sun Blind Control

• Task

To ensure comfort levels and at the same time enhance energy efficiency of the building.

• Function

•Louvers are adjusted to optimize daylight levels, avoiding glare. •Artificial light controlled via movement sensor. •Depending on the seasons controls are sent.

• Advantages

•Energy savings are achieved by reducing use of artificial light by maximizing heat gain in winter and minimizing energy used for cooling in summer.

Page 15: Building Automation: Residence

Sun Blind Actuator

− Anti-glare protection (e.g. PC workstations) − Utilization of daylight by tracking the sun‘s position and directing available daylight − Protecting furniture and carpets from fading, − Regulating the room temperature (overheating protection in summer; harvesting the available energy on cold days) − Providing protection from people looking in from the outside − Protection against intruders.

Surveillance

Task

Ensuring personal safety and security in buildings, as well as guaranteeing that the building itself and the systems contained within are in safe working order.

Function

• Fault monitoring units Security sensors such as, intrusion, motion, smoke, gas, water and emergency calls.

• Signalling devices for optical and acoustic notification of a potentially dangerous situation.

Security Terminal - MT/S 8.12.2M

Security Terminal MT/S 8.12.2M is a modular installation device (MDRC).It is used as the interface between security technology sensors and KNX. Application Typical applications include the monitoring of door and window opening, the detection of glass breaks as well as monitoring of rooms using motion detectors.

Page 21: Building Automation: Residence

Motion Detector- IR/KB

The Passive Infra-Red Detector IR/K is an intrusion detector (VdS class B) that detects and signals motion within its detection range. Features Range: 15 m The detector features undervoltage monitoring and is fitted with a walk test LED.

LOCATION DEVICE

Magnetic Reed Contact MRS/W

LOCATION

DEVICE

Application Reed contacts monitor the opening of windows and doors. Mode of operation The reed contact is magnetically operated by a separate permanent magnet.

Lock Bolt Switching Contacts WRK/W

DEVICE LOCATION

Application The lock bolt switching contact is used for monitoring locks on doors and windows. Design and installation Due to its compact design, the lock bolt switching contact can simply be mounted behind any strike plate.

Glass Break Sensor SPGS/W

DEVICE LOCATION

Application The electronic glass break sensor is used to monitor the glass surfaces of windows and doors. The passive glass break sensor must be mounted on double glazing windows out of reach. Function The piezoelectric microphone registers the typical vibrations that are caused by forcible damage to a pane of glass.

Page 25: Building Automation: Residence

Panic Detector NDU/W

DEVICE

Emergency Call Button NDU/W For manual alarm tripping, independent of the status of the intrusion alarm installation. – permanent trip recognition (complies with police regulations) – momentary-contact function – cover contact – surface and flush mounting versions

Page 26: Building Automation: Residence

Water Detector SWM4

DEVICE

Application The water detector is used to detect water ingress, e.g., pipe fractures, seepage of groundwater and sewage. Mode of operation The water detector senses rising water via 4 electrodes which are located approx. 1 mm away from the edge of the housing. Design The sensor is located in a housing which is sealed on all sides. There is an LED on the top of the housing to indicate that the detector has been tripped.
