Guide for downloading BTS SW to BTS and commissioning of Multi radio BTS

You must ensure you have at least BTS Edge Manager version EX3.1:

1. Setting of IP address on your laptop

2. Connecting to BTS

3. Downloading SW to BTS

4. Start commissioning BTS

5. Select SCF file for site

6. Send SCF file to BTS7. Upload report from BTS

8. Finish commissioning

9. Site on Air

You have to install two BTS Managers to be able to connect to the BTS

Ensure that you haveBTS MANAGER

for EX3.1

As BTS is in EX3.1 you need EX3.1 BTS MANAGER

First step is to set the IP address on Laptop, Click on start, select My Network Places,

Click on View Network connections

Network Connections tab, click on Local Area Connections and then select

Change settings of the connection

Local area connections properties select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on

Properties

Internet Protocol Properties select Use the Following IP address and set following IP

Address: 192.168.255.130, Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0Click on OK to set the IP address

After setting IP address start the BTS manager,

Double click on 2G Flexi BTS Site Manager icon

BTS Manager opens, connect to BTS

Click on Connect

BTS Manager verifies the SW versions of BTS Manager

and BTS,

BTS manager is now connected to the BTS

To update BTS SW click on BTS SW, Select SW Update

Update SW tab opens, click on Master File, Select Master File tab browse to the folder

on your laptop that contains the latest SW EX3.1 A53, select BTSM3123.084

Select BTSM3123.084 and then click open

Select Force BTS to Download All Application Files, then click on Update SW

SW updating starts and you can track the progress in Package Download Progress

SW updating progress until all SW is downloaded 20 Files will be downloaded

Once download completed the BTS will Reset

Once completed reset BTS Manager will reconnect and you can verify the SW update

Click on BTS SW, select SW Versions

The current running BTS package will be shown 3.12-3

To commission BTS click on Commissioning wizard

Select Commission from SCF, Click Browse to select the SCF file and open,

Click Next

Browse

Commissioning completed

Click Send SCF

BTS now connecting to BSC

E1 link is up and BTS is successfully commissioned when all steps have passed

Click on Show Report and save to disk

Click on Finish

Click on Show report and save to disk

Click on Finish

BTYS is successfully commissioned OMU link is UP and BTS is transmitting
