Dealing with a student’s problems quickly heightens their confidence in the college as a whole. In addition, I have oversight for SERVA- our campus volunteer registry. “ Vannessa Green, Assistant Dean for Student Development “From student clubs, organizations, fraternities, sororities, and student government to co-curricular events organized by both the college and the students, the Office of Student Development is there to provide the Brooklyn College community with opportunities for leadership development in order to get the most out of the college experience.” Dave Bryan, Special Assistant to the Dean of Student Affairs “Your journey through college is filled with opportunities for growth and development. If at anytime you need information or direction on Health and Wellness at BC, visit me in the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs, 2113 Boylan Hall.” Ryan Buck, Executive Director of the Student Center “The Student Center, a cornerstone of the community, is transforming into the Hub of student life, with Student Development, Student Governance, SERVA, Student Activities and a state of the art game room café, the Student Center is for our student community. We are Brooklyn’s Student Center.” Bruce Filosa, Director of Recreation, Intramurals and Intercollegiate Athletics “As Director of Recreation, Intramurals and Intercollegiate Athletics, I oversee our recreational facilities, expansive intramural events and 10-Team Intercollegiate Athletics program. If you have not used our recreational facilities, competed in intramurals, participated on or viewed a Brooklyn College Team, I would like to invite you to our office, 125 Roosevelt Hall, to get more information on how you can be involved.”

Moraima Burgos, Coordinator of Student Campus Communications, Outreach & Development “I make sure that students receive important information regarding college resources, opportunities and events using a variety of communication venues including the Town Hall Meetings and Campus Dialogues. This year, I will also investigate disciplinary complaints and ensure students are aware of their rights and responsibilities as members of this college community.”

Alex Lang, Assistant Director of Recreation, Intramurals and Intercollegiate Athletics “I coach the Women’s Basketball and Cross country teams and am the Director of Sports Information. A big part of my job is maintaining our Office’s website, www.brooklyncollegeathletics.com. The site is very informational as well as attractive. If you have not seen it, you should definitely check it out!”

Claudette Guinn, Coordinator of Campus-Wide Student and Veterans Affairs “Helping Veterans and their families be aware of their benefits, serving as liaison between B.C. and the VA and promoting programs to give back to the community are just a few of the activities of the Office of Veterans Affairs.”

Ilene Tannenbaum, Director, Health Clinic “The BC Health Clinic offers a wide range of patient-focused medical services to promote both the health and the academic success of Brooklyn College students. We provide preventive services, diagnose and treat acute problems, and manage chronic health conditions.

Dr. Gregory Kuhlman, Director, Personal Counseling “Almost every student finds that personal concerns are getting in the way of accomplishment and happiness at some time during college. We help students work through and grow beyond these difficulties to succeed in college and life.”

Pamela Holmes, Assistant to the Dean for Civic Engagement and Student Diversity Programs “B.C. wants every student to be civically

engaged to the best of their ability, on and off campus. From leading a trip to the capital at

Albany to inviting political and civic leaders to

speak on campus, we provide students with opportunities to be more aware and actively

engaged in the world around them.”

Jessica Sanabria, Coordinator of Central Depository “Brooklyn College’s clubs and organizations are a vital part of campus life. Central Depository is an integral part of the club financial process. Part of my job is to advise student clubs in planning their club budgets, Executive Training and Brooklyn College Association sessions, as well as working with student leaders.

Josephine Gregorio, Assistant Director of Administrative Services for the Student Center “The Student Center is a place where we pride ourselves in our commitment to excellent customer and community service. “The primary objective of Orientation for incoming and transfer students is to introduce them to resource opportunities and prepare them for the challenges throughout their college experience. In addition, students learn leadership skills through participating in Student Governance and in events sponsored by the Office of Student Development and Leadership Programs.”
