I have learn how to improve on my writing skills by re-reading and going back to it until I see it in a completesentence or my spelling is correct. I have learned that I can express how I feel in my writing and I add tone andliterally devices on my writing in order to make it stand out and make it more interesting.

I have learned how to annotate textual evidence for an IOC. I have also learned how to �nd meaning in texts.

I have learned how to take higher level notes and how to annotate a text for an IOC. I have also learned how tostructure and write an essay for the SAT by explaining how the author persuades his or her audience(s) using�gurative language.

I have learned much about many important people I didn't know anything about, like Langston Hughes and theHarlem Renaissance. I didn't know about these til this year and I'm glad i learned about them because theyplay a big role in history and took a big toll on everyday life. As well, I learned more about myself not only that Ican put a lot of idea into my writing if i actually focus and try on it but also that I can overcome any obstaclethat comes in my way if i do my best to try an overcome it.



I have learned to expand my thinking and annotate a text for an IOC . I have not learned to be con�dentbecause I get nervous when I speak when I know it will affect my grade.

I believe that I have learned in english class because we learn about topics and situations in the real worldwhich helps me understand and determine the meaning and signi�cance of the stuff we learn but at the sametime i feel like i dont learn because I dont go all out like in this class you need to be able to express yourselfand im not good at that.

I have learned some new things that help me in my everyday life to get a better understanding of thingsbecause ive learned to go deeper and analize things

I have learned how to read like a feminist and a new critic.

I have learned how to expand my thoughts in my daily readings and how to be con�dante in making a locvideo.

I learned a more clearer understanding of what I have known before. I also have better techniques with mywriting and opened a more in-depth thinking of text.

In my English class I have learned how to use literary devices to make my writing more interesting. Somethingthat I wish I could learn better is to communicate more during Socratic seminars which can help me with myIOC because then ill have practice on speaking my ideas in an orderly manner.

Overall this year up to February i have learned what to do and what not to do in a IOC. This has been a very wildjourney because at �rst i really did not know how to annotate a text before but since you have show us the wayof annotating and different skills to help improve in our IOC and that I have really appreciated. In my opinion Istill not sure how I can improve in my SAT writing considering I did not accomplished this work becausegenuinely was my fault.

I have learned so many things in English class but the one thing that really stuck with me are the SAT elementsfor example: vivid language, diction, appeal to emotion etc. I have also learned how to annotate a text for anIOC.

I liked working on The Great Gatsby �nal. I would like to do more story based creative writing.

Being able to work with peers

A few things I want to continue doing is easing into the lesson step by step. Such as our teacher helping us tobetter understand the lesson.

Working in groups is especially useful not only to myself but others because I feel like I work better with otherthan by myself.

One thing that works best is the socratic seminar.

I would like to continue on working together as a class instead of individual because we dont focus enough toget stuff done.

I really enjoy the liberty we get in our writing and were given the opportunity to write openly.

Things that work well for me is when Bruce let's us choose where we sit because that allows the students tobe comfortable in their working space.

One thing that works well for me in English class that I wish will continue is being able to sit with my friends.This helps me feel more comfortable within the class therefore making it easier for me to complete my work.

well overall my experience with the class is �ne the thing that doesn't work well for me has to be the lack ofmotivation i have to do my homework overall everything is �ne

Sometimes the due date for assignments are unclear and confusing.

Needing a limited amount of tickets to go to the bathroom, because I lost mine and others can easily loosetheirs.

i dont really like how confused i get on what is due the next day i think people can agree that sometimes wecome in class shocked because we've been told there was homework

Things that dont work out for me is the nightly readings, reason why is because i forget to do them all the time.

I can't really concentrated in class when its loud.

I want Mr. Bruce to assign us the homework not assign us google classroom. Google classroom is helpful forstudents that missed work but when its the current day I believe Bruce should tell the class what thehomework is.

One thing that does not work well for me in English class is the constructed learning when we do things on ourown and with steps. I don't feel that this helps me learn personally and it is confusing.

Some things that do not work well for me in this class is that sometimes people don't like to participate andkeep the �ow going and it kind of shuts down the vibe.

I like everything about the class because Mr. Bruce is very balanced and he knows when he to give us ourspace and work on our own and when he needs to speak to us as a class.

one thing that doesnt work well is the fact that sometimes the work being thrown at us isnt clearly giveninstructions like i feel like theres more to it.

The nightly readings is something i don't like because it is something that is not needed to do on the computer.A good alternative would be reading 50 essays and then weighting about what we read on paper or make a �ipgrid. Also even you said that the nightly readings is what dropped a lot of peoples grades.

I think that one thing that does not work well are our blogs because sometimes we have a hard time �guringout what we should write about and I don't understand how they help us but I also acknowledge that it is usedto practice our writing.

I really do not enjoy doing the blogs and nightly readings because I know they are bene�cial in our IOC andprepare but I am not really completing these tasks.

Everything has worked well so far it's just on me to complete the work.

I would like to have open seating and not seating charts because it really is a childish thing. Like if we're takinga rigorous class I would like to feel like we are by being mature and being able to make our own decisions ofwho to sit with .

Something that i would like to learn that im not good at is managing things in this class because i fall behind alot.

I have done a better job on annotating and getting my work done on time. A set back would be that sometimesI get caught up talking to my peers and then I don't know what is going on.

Just explain instructions well enough make us get involved

I would like to focus on more interesting topics maybe if we had a choice to pick a topic of our own and workwith the people we want because I feel that it would make us more interested in the work and put more effortin and communicate with those that you feel more comfortable

some set backs is the nightly readings because we do so much at school and have a lot of home work to do athome and like myself I don't have a learning center and we all have personal life we have to take care of and itoverwhelms when they start adding up and then start to fail and we moved passed the unit of are nightlyreadings we where on.

In this class I think I've had a di�cult time at �rst because in my other English classes I would receive goodgrades in my writing and I've found it more di�cult to express my ideas when it comes to writing now but thetopics we focus on have helped me see new perspectives which help me in my writing. I think that the skills Iwould like to focus on is writing written task.
